Speedrunner Skater82297 Sets New OoT World Record, Currently Streaming for Even Faster Time
Posted on March 13 2015 by Rod Lloyd
A few days ago, speedrunner Jodenstone continued his Ocarina of Time supremacy by setting a new Any% record of 18 minutes and 5 seconds using a newly-discovered glitch. Today, speedrunner skater82297 (known for discovering many glitches used in the current Any% route) set a new record by shaving 2 seconds off Jodenstone’s time. Even after setting his impressive time of 18 minutes and 3 seconds, skater82297 still has his sights on a time under 18 minutes and is currently streaming his attempts on his Twitch channel.
Skater82297’s world record run makes use of the new Deku Nut glitch, which was used by Jodenstone in his run. The glitch allows the runner to obtain a bottle early and quickly set up the wrong warp glitch, sending the runner to Ganon’s Tower. Skater82297’s new record has not yet been officially verified, but will be once today’s broadcast is archived.
He is currently streaming right now on Twitch with the goal of finishing the game in under 18 minutes, a goal he is on pace for. According to skater82297, there is a lot of time to be saved in this new route. If you wish to watch another possible world record be set live, this is a great opportunity. Runner Jodenstone is also attempting the same feat.
