Shigeru Miyamoto Explains the Development for the World in Zelda U

In a recent interview with iJustine, Shigeru Miyamoto has shared some interesting facts about the initial development plan for the world in Zelda U. He explains that, with every Zelda game, the developers always try to present Hyrule as this big world for the player to explore. Due to the hardware limitations of previous consoles, the only way they could achieve this was by segmenting each area and then piecing them together. Thanks to the hardware capabilities of the Wii U, they decided to try and approach this idea differently. They started off by creating a world the size of Hyrule in Twilight Princess and trying to see if they could make it a single area within the game.
From what we’ve seen of the map in the footage shown during The Game Awards, it’s safe to say that the world in Zelda U is bigger than the one from Twilight Princess. This brings up a variety of interesting questions. How big is the world in Zelda U? Is it going to be entirely composed of a single area, or will it be segmented, as well? If it is divided into different segments, how big are these areas going to be? And how many of them will there be?
It may take a while to find out the answers, but in the meantime, let us know what you think in the comments below!
