Zelda fans fearful of their Majora’s Mask Edition 3DS XL pre-orders being canceled have even more reason to be paranoid now. Users on Reddit and GameFAQs have reported that their Majora’s Mask 3DS XL pre-orders from Fry’s Electronics were canceled.
A Reddit user, named MarsGaming, posted an alleged email received from Fry’s Electronics. It states that due to overselling preorders, the retailer was canceling MarsGaming’s reserved console. GameFAQs user DerekRoss posted an identical message.
The entire email can be read below:
We regret to inform you that we have had to cancel your recent pre-order for the Nintendo 3DS XL Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Limited Edition. The viral popularity of this product exceeded the quantities made available to Fry’s by the manufacturer. As a result, we are unable to fulfill all of the pre-orders received. If Nintendo decides to increase our allocation for this limited edition product, we will contact you to give you the opportunity to purchase this product. Your order number is: xxxxxxxx
We know this must be disappointing to you, as it certainly is for us.
Please be assured that if you submitted a credit card, debit card, or gift card number for payment, your card was not charged for the canceled pre-order.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Customer Service Dept
No official announcement has been made by Fry’s Electronics yet on just how many pre-orders will be canceled, but it is important to note the email states personnel would contact those who had pre-orders if Nintendo decides to make more units available to the store.
Anyone who reserved a Majora’s Mask Edition 3DS XL by credit card was not charged for their canceled pre-order.
