My Zelda for Wii U Wish List for E3 2014
Posted on May 17 2014 by Nathanial Rumphol-Janc
E3 2014 is right around the corner. As of today, we have 23
days until the official start of E3 week. More than that, we are now 24 days
away from the reveal of Zelda for Wii U. This is a moment we’ve been waiting
eagerly for ever since they publicly announced the game was
in development.
With E3 so close, we are going to ramping up our E3
speculation and coverage leading all the way up to June 10th, 2014.
Today, I present to you my personal wish list for Zelda for Wii U, and what I
want to see at E3 from the game.
Nate’s Zelda U Wish List:
- A vibrant, upbeat,
world
– sales may disagree and say the game should be darker, but realityis the upbeat world, something we have seen in games like A Link Between Worlds, The
Wind Waker, and The Minish Cap
always tickled my fancy just a bit more. Besides, you can still have a really
engrossing story and some darker themes within a vibrant atmosphere.
- A story that breaks
all conventions
– We obviously aren’t going to see much of the story at E3,Nintendo does a great job when it comes to not spoiling any of the major plot
events. However, I would love to see some hints at something that is totally
different. We thought we got that with Zant, but as we know the events played
out about the same as always, whereas the initial presentation made you feel
like Hyrule was being conquered, an event and story we have yet to see play out
in a game.
- The return of magic
spells
– We’ve had the series dabble in magical items and other forms ofsorcery over the years, but we have had very few titles essentially give us the
ability to have magic spells – similar to the stone attacks we got to use in Ocarina
of Time. Even if they won’t detail it, I would love to see Link cast one spell,
just to show they are exploring the possibility.
- A vast world with new
areas
– I don’t mind if it takes place in Hyrule, but I would love to seethat world get expanded beyond the traditional places. Maybe a new city or an
entirely new area adjacent to Hyrule itself. Another Kingdom perhaps? Whatever
it is, new is good. It is also unexpected.
- A solid release
window
– Holiday 2015, 2014, summer next year – whatever it is I reallywant Nintendo to give us a decent idea when to expect the game. Saying
something like 2015 or nothing at all doesn’t do the series, or the fans,
justice.
