Lana Awakens the Spirit of the Forest in a New Hyrule Warriors Video (Japanese)

It’s time for another
Hyrule Warriors update! Koei Tecmo has recently uploaded the newest character trailer in their spotlight series featuring Lana the White Sorceress. She descends upon the battlefield alongside the spirit of the Deku Tree with a steady resolve, more than determined to help turn the tides. Lana’s featured weapon in this video (大樹) has been referred to as a “Deku Staff”, but the meaning literally translates to “Giant Tree”. This correlates to her newly granted power to call upon the force of nature to assist her in combat, and she is, once again, a force to be reckoned with. In the video, we see Lana utilize a wide array of attacks, several of which involve the Deku Leaf from The Wind Waker and an adorable trio of cheerful Deku Sprouts.
Lana’s Book of Sorcery suits her very well, and while it is debatable that a mage’s weapon usually helps to enhance the spells they already know, her attacks still differ based on what she has equipped. With the staff in hand, she is able to use powerful water and ice spells to keep her enemies at bay. For a devastating finisher, she summons gigantic tree roots from the earth to deliver a crushing blow to her attackers. If that final impact wasn’t already awesome enough, Lana charges into battle once more while holding the classic
Kokiri Shield in a move that ultimately destroys.
What seems to be a new theme song for this area of the forest stage lends a heroic feeling to Lana’s efforts and with it a sense of urgency. It will definitely be worth a listen for me later on.
