8 Player Smash Confirmed for Wii U

Today’s Nintendo Direct has confirmed that up to 8 Players will be able to play simultaneously in local multiplayer in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. This will only be allowed on certain big stages such as Hyrule Temple.

It appears as if 5 or 6 player matches may be allowed online, but this was not clear.
