This place sounds interesting for paragliding but it doesn't seem really important, just a "background" object?

Looks like a hollowed out tree to me. Kind of like those connecting the different areas of the lost woods. But I don't think this is significant.

We've seen a tree like this before. In the very first trailer when Link jumps from the cliff edge and begins to glide for the first time we can see a hollowed out horizontal tree below him.

I think the one in the trailer is different from this one though. The one in the trailer seems to be on flat ground whereas the one in the screenshot seems to be on a slope, i also cant make out a lake near the one in the trailer.

Looks like hollowed out, creaked down the middle trees are a thing in BoTW.

Who wants to shield sled down that with me? WOOHOO looks like fun! (Maybe it's part of a dead Deku tree. That is one big tree isn't it?)

If you look at the bottom of the image there appears to be another hollowed-out tree beneath Link. Maybe there's an area with several of those? ... is it a stretch to say maybe a long-forgotten kokiri village? probably lol. But it would be neat.

Hard to tell but that looks very plausable based on the picture. I'd agree with that. Looks like it could be a village.

It is the ruins on the plateau, with a shrine and a guardian without legs. Not a village.

It's definitely the shrine behind some ruins where there is a stranded guardian. You see that area in the E3 footage

Maybe so but in 5 weeks well get to explore it and know for certain.

Some of them you can tell a big difference, the main one I noticed was the shot of Link going up a mountain side with the valley beneath (6th pic in the switch and 3rd pic WiiU). The Switch version has better resolution on textures and clearer distant objects/places. Lighting and contrast are also different.
