What is your favorite fishing hole from the Legend of Zelda series?
My favorite is the Tp fishing hole the different types of fish and lures makes you feel like you are actually fishing and then catching the Legendary Hylian Loach is awesome to. ![]() ![]()

I like the one from TP. You can go out in a canoe on it, you can catch a discarded bottle, and it has ducks! Ducks are awesome!

The TP fishing hole was a definite step up from the previous ones (is OoT the only other one?). i think that the changing of seasons was really neat and kinda reminded me of OoS. also i still haven't caught a hylian loach, but i plan on it very soon. the heart piece and bottle are a mjor plus and i find i travel here mostly for the roll goal and the peace and quite... oh and the ducks too, they rock! but no ducks in winter haha. one time i was like where are all the winter ducks?! lol

I think my favorite would have to be the TP fishing hole, but of course i have only played 2 Zelda games with a fishing hole. I used to spend so long exploring, playing with the ducks, going fishing, and then exiting, entering, and doing it all over again in a different season! Good times, good times.

I'm going to have to agree with most everyone else and say that the Twilight Princess fishing hole was the best. It really is a beautiful place, and I've spent hours there in the morning with a bowl of cereal fishing. And catching the Hylian Loach was pretty fun. The changing of seasons added some much needed realism, and I love it in the spring, with all of the pink petals floating on the water. And going out into the canoe was an excellent step up from just fishing from the shore.
Plus, as Shadsie said, you can get a bottle and a heart piece there which is nice.. And I find Hena's little house really homey, and interesting to look in. All in all, the Fishing Hole was a really a well thought out and put together location in TP. And I hope in Zelda Wii that something like this makes a return. On a side note, I remember when I first played through TP, I kept hearing about this Fishing Hole from people, but I played through almost the entire game without finding it. And when I did find it I was very happy.

Oh, TP easily. The fish selection is decent, and Hena's house has lots of minigames and plenty of things to peer at. Hours of fun. The only thing I really found lacking was the nothing you get for catching that Hylian Loach. It was Hena's dream to have one of those, and she can't even throw out a heart piece?!

Oooooh... I guess by sheer amount of awesome things, it'd have to be TP... as said it was just so beautiful, and there was so much going on to see and do. And ducks.
That said the fishing hole in OoT will always have a special place in my heart... I spend countless hours in that place as a kid... it was one of the only places in Hyrule I felt "safe". The fisherman guy was awesome (rofl his hat)... the shiny secret sinking lurk was really fun to mess with (especially when I found it by accident)... and just, fishing was amazingly fun, it was the first 3D fishing experience I had in a game, and their different weights and the ability to target them was really cool. But by sheer amount I'd have to hesitantly say TP... though I smiled when I saw a testament to OoT's fishing hole legacy in Hena's hut... a photo of the old fisherman guy with his little waistcoat and hat. :3

Why So Serious?

My Favourite Fishing Ground was the one from Twilight Princess. I love how it changes the season in there, It looks really good during the different seasons. I also find it very relaxing to go fishing there. I can spend up to 4-5 hours when I go in just fishing, although I sound like a nerd for doing so.
The huts is great as well with all the pictures in there with her family. That minigame was pretty fun as well...although very frustrating towards the very last levels ...It is also quite big and has several cool natural features, It just perfects Fishing Hole's in any game. It's got beautiful features in there and there is a lot to do.

me and my friend spent hours trying to catch all the fish in Tp. We cought the Hylian Loach and everything then we went back and just fished forever. I think the Tp one ids the best probably because of the scenery, and the music. Oh and if anyone needs help catching a fish ask me.

. That fish was a hard battle I was using the frog lure and it would always pop out of it's mouth, so I changed to the sinking lure and snagged that bad boy but it took at least 45 minutes to finally land that sucker. But it was worth it after Helena awarded me with some praise, and I can't stop looking at the thing.![]() ![]()

Being someone who's not a fan of fishing and has generally hated it in the Zelda series...
![]() I'd say Twilight Princess. I actually kind of enjoyed the fishing in that. I liked it how you could do it all around, not just in the Fishing Hole. I still never fished a lot (although I might in the future, like the playthrough I'm doing now), but at least I found it enjoyable. Whereas in Ocarina of Time I avoided it entirely until I wanted to get the Gold Scale really badly. ![]()

I would definitely agree with TP's fishing hole. It was the most unique in that it actually had changing seasons for one thing. It was also so vast, so if you got bored in one location, you could always move to another. The boat was a great aspect to put into the title as well, along with being able to fish from a dock.
OoT's was fun, but it just didn't feel like true fishing to me. TP's captured that very well by providing multiple locations and a bigger body of water to do it in. I have honestly never gone to a 2 foot deep pond the size of a backyard swimming pool to fish, which is what OoT's hole felt like. I also enjoyed the fishing hut and dealing with Hena there. The minigame was fun, but I suppose it wasn't really a part of the fishing. Still, the overall experience of that fishing hole was the best for me. |
