Yep but you have to watch out with enemies being very close when you use the runes. I used bombs but was immidiatly attacked not even a split sec when the sheikah rune was done. Stupid moblins! I got back at them right away though :D

This should happen automatically. After each chapter or mission on the map you should see a sword symbol in the bottom right corner. This indicates your game is being saved. The same with the map. That becomes available after the first Sheikah tower is restored. This will take you into the map...
