Shay glances over at his newfound companion, "I may as well join up," he replies. He'll keep his guard up - this guy has shown friendliness towards the enemy in the past, so either way he was a confirmed actor, but for now he'd take Ashar at face value, "What're you looking for?"

Shay nods in understanding, "Just be careful around them. They're capable of more than they tell you they are, and they're willing to do whatever it takes to keep themselves in power," he stares out at woods beyond the town, "Don't let your guard down."

Shay walks to the edge of town and finds a rock. Thats a good rock he fleetingly thinks before sitting down on it, his anger at a resting point

Shay shakes his head, "If I were, I'd be screaming about Daemons before I was screaming about dragons."

"My father's death and the suffering of my mother," Shay replies, "Is that not tax enough? Is watching your entire village destroyed tax enough? Everyone you know and love reduced to ash?" he's yelling now, "Is that not enough for you?"

Shay snorts, "No, I turn down you because you're a harlot. And I didn't choose Gail as a romantic companion, simply as a dining companion. Get your head out of your own ass every once in a while, and maybe I'll show you a little more respect."

"I didn't go to you. I went to Bela. Why she told you to come I will never know," Shay replies, obviously pissed. He returns to Ashar, "Sorry about that. Yes, that's the plan. Not a problem for you, I'd hope?" he eyes Gail.

Shay turns to see an absolute moron waving maniacally. He shrugs and turns back to her, "I dunno, maybe he's waving at someone else. You seem to know him... friend of yours?"

Shay shakes his head, "I have few acquaintances, my dear, and the name doesn't quite ring a bell," of course he's lying through his teeth, but he plays it off decently well. He can only hope that she believes him, and if not, that the group gets over here quickly.

The boy whispers into Bela's ear, "I'm at a noodle place, down the road. Keep watch on the young lady dining with me," the little boy giggles and runs off into the crowd, disappearing. Shay looks down, "This does actually look like good soup," he admits, finally taking a spoon and tasting the...

A young boy giggles and runs over to Bela, pulling on her arm and gesturing for her to kneel down to talk to him. "Would you mind showing me some of these kites? I don't see many of them, and you must be quite good to make a living doing them here."

Shay offers his hand to her, "Call me Shay," he says, "What do you do around here, Gail?"

Shay shakes his head, "It's all fine. I enjoy the silence of travelling alone. I was never the most social soul, even in my youth, so I got quite used to lonesomeness. Never married, had few friends, most of them dead now. But such is life."

"Exploring," Shay said, "In all my years, I never did see much of the world around me. All I knew was my hut and the general area. Now, in my old age, I want to see the world. Enjoy what little time I have left."

Shay takes a seat at one of the tables with the young woman and gives her another one of his warm smiles.

Shay looks at her, surprised about her tone of voice. She was trying to get something across to him, "Very well young lady, lead on."

Shay shakes his head and gives a warm smile, "No thank you, ma'am."

Shay begins to peruse the shops. He doesn't buy anything - just looks around, blending in, waiting.

Shay nods in understanding. At least the second sibling was more level-headed than the first, "I'll do my best."

"I'm invested," he reminds Belo, "I came seeking you out, not the other way around. Remember that. As for the others... maybe just make sure she doesn't scare them away?"

Shay gives a brief nod to Panrill, and then returns to the town square.

A wall goes up in front of her, "Maybe distract someone other than one of us, Miss Vandraste."

Shay stands and pats his bag, "All I need is in here. I'm used to subsisting on little."

"I don't," the obviously-pissed illusion said as it disippated, "I just want you to focus on the mission instead of failing to seduce our teammates."

An armored figure appears behind Bela, "Sister," he says simply.

"Bluffing comes with the territory, of course. I don't do anything really official for warding, though. It's less 'You shall not pass' and more 'I'll try to scare you away or divert your attention'."

"Not anything active or elemental," Shay explains, "It's all illusionary. My focus is quite different from most others," he looks over at her, "What's your branch of choice?"

Shea shakes his head, "Some disciplined troops you've got here," he said sarcastically

Shay starts walking his horse alongside the armored one, "Does he actually know where we're going?"

Shay glances back at the inn warily, then at Deliron. This moment said a lot about the man. He continues on with the rest of group.

Shea already had all he needed. His horse was tied up outside, his possessions and survival gear in his bag, "Ready whenever you are, chief."

"You know," Shay told them from the next table over, "You're speaking quite loud for someone plotting to kill the tyrants of a kingdom."

"A pleasure, Mr. Whiteveil," Shay says to him, leaning back in his seat.

Shay nods, "Interesting..." he offers his hand, "Shay Tenalde. And you would be?"

Shay glances at him quizically, "No, I myself am not a soothsayer. My father was, and some of his power was passed on to me, but I could never control or use them. But... how would you know that?" he asked, "How could you guess?"

Shay nods to the newcomer in greeting, "Good afternoon. I see that you signed up to join the party as well?" He gestures to the armored figure.
