    Xenoblade Chronicles X

Yeah, I think that would have been a good idea. I know there are some classes that let you mix-and-match different weapons, though. Like even though a class might say Assault Rifles and Knives, you can actually do Dual Swords. I don't remember the exact combinations, but it's there. I won't...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

The Class concept was really well done, I agree. You can tell that they're all different, because not every Class is for me. I've tried them all, and I have to say there were some that I gave up after just a few fights. Mmm. Mira is still the most beautiful video game world ever created. I...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

Good stuff. Thanks. I'll do that. In fact, I started to do just that. I loaded, and quickly did an about-face and left for NLA to take on some new quests. I'm finishing up some of the ones I had started, with the Nopon fireworks, or some such nonsense. I just need XP, and I don't care how I get it.

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

So Do I wait until I'm level 60 to try again? Are there level 60 Skells?
  5. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I'm having a bit of a time taking a good shot of the mechs that are level 50+. They aggro me pretty quickly, and I can't afford to not be in a Skell. I'm going to keep trying, but that last one may take a while.
  6. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

Yep. That is a really good place to get Qs. Plus at my level, they don't bother me at all. And you can't beat that view, man. With the sunset, and the moons on the water. If wish there were a place like that in our world lol ... I'll give Monolith that, they created an incredibly beautiful...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

You can take out all of the HUD from the menu. And I took them from ground level because if you zoom in all the way out of a Skell, you can actually go into what I call pseudo first-person view. I actually took better screens of the Q in a subsequent playthrough, and I'll post those later...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

@AncientPoe The Qmoeva wasn't as cooperative as the Galdr. Let me know if you want a different shot of the Q.

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I've been working on Boze mostly, because I had 0 affinity with him. I'm actually going to get everyone to Two Heart Affinity, then do all of those level missions, and then work my way from there. I figure by the time I get everyone to Two Heart, I'll be quite stronger, and may even be ready to...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I used a capture card :D I really haven't done anything fancy with mine. I have basic weapons that do basic damage. I do have one weapon that deals heavy damage to mechanized enemies, and a stagger combo so I can do the thing where you hold down the opponent and regain fuel at the same time...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

My Skell, Osiris, at sunset. I've been working on affinity building a lot lately.
  14. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I gave up on that to be honest. I tried, like you said, to do things that boosted my division, but I feel that people are switching to "good" divisions, and that messes everything up. I don't know if that's true. I just really don't understand it. I was getting the grand reward constantly, every...
  15. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I'm one of those in the camp that feels that the combat in X was dumbed down in comparison to Chronicles. I actually thought there was a lot more strategy in Chronicles than in X. In Chronicles, I changed my party a lot until I found the best possible party, and I stuck with that, or one of...
  16. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

Absolutely. It's probably my biggest complaint about the game. Yeah, yeah, the music and all that, but that can be overlooked, to be honest. But it felt like giving us a voice to choose from, and then have the character mute was really foolish. My immersion-breaking moment happened way before...
  17. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I don't doubt that, and actually that worries me because I've been doing pretty well without the need to really learn the Arts and combos. And I'm sure once I get into the level 80+ enemies, I'm going to get swatted around like a fly.
  18. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I agree. For example, the Sylvalum theme is my absolute favorite. Both night and day themes are wonderful. I can't get into the combat of this game. I know there is a way to make it deeper and more fulfilling, but I find it really shallow, to be honest. I've never had to go into overdrive to...
  19. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

Well, opinions and all that. I thought the music tried too hard, and it failed miserably. None of the modern, edgy musical themes worked. The ambient overworld themes were fantastic, but any time they tried for whatever Black Tar and NLA themes are supposed to be, they failed miserably. Aside...
  20. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I'm one of the few people that are 100% with you. (1) The music sucks. NLA's theme sucks. Especially the night theme. The battle themes suck. The overworld music is great, though, in my opinion. It's what the entire game should have been. I know they were going for a more "edgy" musical theme...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

As I haven't finished the game, this achievement still eludes me, but I plan on accomplishing it over the summer.
  22. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

Oh, at Level 60 you should have no problem with Chapter 10. I beat it and I was at a much lower level than that. I think I was in the high 40s. It takes a while, but it isn't an impossible battle by any means. The trick for me was to use Soul Shouts or whatever they're called intelligently...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

Anyone still playing this? I recently picked it back up. It had been a few months since I played it, and my hope was that a bit of time away from it would rekindle my interest in the game. I'm happy to say that it worked. As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder. I finished Chapter 11...
  24. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I'm saving them up since I don't actually use augments. I've yet to equip a single augment on any of my characters or my mechs. I probably will later, but as for the current set up I have, I don't need them.
  25. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

You don't actually have to play with anyone to get those things. Just have your game hooked up to the server and earn tickets. I rarely use my tickets, unless I have been playing for hours and still can't find the items I need. I've over 1000 tickets right now. What kind of a fool uses a track...
  26. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I stuck with medium. I think it's the right balance between power and fuel efficiency. I've purchased a few heavy skells and I didn't care for them, and I bought a few lights and I hated them. Medium is that "Goldilocks" perfect balance.
  27. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I'm about to start chapter 11, but I admit I've already had the difficulty decreased twice. Once with the first boss, once with I think chapter 9. I'm level 50 right now, and my main crew are all hovering around the mid to upper 40s. I probably won't start the chapter until I get everyone a new...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I haven't experienced running out of insurance yet, though I don't think I would sell my skells. Rather, I think I'd assign them to the NPCs that don't have a skell yet. As of now, my character has the best skell, and Elma and Lin have the next two best models (since they're required for every...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

It's also my understanding that if your party member walks/drives the skell off a bottomless pit (i.e., Oblivia), it is also considered trashed. Of course, this would occur before you get the flight module. I could be wrong about this, however.

Called the "Beachside Trove" in Oblivia. Close to FN 317. It's a tiny, easily missable cave entrance. The treasure requires level 5 Mechanical, so I'm assuming it's

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I just wanted to share this amazing view with you guys. I'm on top of the highest peak in Oblivia. It's not the highest point, but it is the highest peak. You can see the entire continent from here. This was during a heat wave, so the distance is a bit blurry because of the weather effects, but...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

Yeah, it was a bit confusing at first, and I was intimidated with it, but it works itself out if you set it up right. As a disclaimer, I have not used combat probes at all, so I'm not sure how I'm going to handle that particular issue. The way I see it, until I'm trying to take on anything...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

The best tip is to look at each FN site and pick the ones that (1) have the least revenue/mining and (2) are not forming chains with any other high-yield FN sites. What I did is, whenever I found a C rank or below FN site for money and mining, I placed a storage probe. A ranks get either a...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

That's exactly right. I was on a different message board, and when someone mentioned this very point, he/she got flamed to death. It really is frustrating to have to find 6 of a very rare item that only spawns in caves, for example, and just say "Find 6 xxx in Noctilum" ... after hours (literal...
  35. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

Yep. The worst part is she brings Tatsu. I mean, she's annoying on her own, but her interactions with Tatsu are the worst. Trying to bring back the hilarious Reyn-Riki moments, but it doesn't work. It just doesn't have the same chemistry. That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm using her sparingly...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

Rockmole Burrow is awesome. I was so scared to go in front of that thing, but I collected a butt-load of stuff. Anyone else finding Lin's dialogue at times extremely inappropriate? Also, has anyone found the Resident Evil reference?
  37. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I'll be honest, I had to die the allotted number of times and reduce the difficulty for this fight. Even though I was 4 levels above him and his party,
  38. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

That's another good type of mission to get some cheap XP with. Just get the characters you want to level up and accept all the missions you already have the materials for. Yeah, it was a surprise to me too, but I found out when one of the characters died and leveled up TWO levels. I believe...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

@the8thark There are a few islands like that. That one, I believe, holds the blueprints for a Super Weapon for Skells. There's another one that also holds blueprints. On a side note, I found a pretty decent way to level up the side characters and get them affinity points. First, take on as...

I do appreciate the offers for help, but I don't need help really. That's not what any of this is about. I'm Level 46 and just finished As I've said, I'm loving this game. This entire back-and-forth has been based on what Spirit was talking about, about being forced to grind, being prevented...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I guess you don't have eyes, since you can't see that I'm literally showing you with pictures that you're wrong. I remember you not being such an annoying person in the past. What happened? It seems like ever since I've been criticising this game with valid points, you've gotten your feathers...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I'd like to think the music is so bad because it's a parody, but I doubt it. It's weird to have a game with some of my favorite and most loathed music at the same time. For example, the Sylvalum night theme is absolutely wonderful. But everything with words in it is dreadful. I'm not familiar...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

For example, this part: These enemies are going to drop down on me. I can see them, but I can't target them. Further ahead: As you can see, there is nothing on the ceiling here. But, the enemies will drop from the ceiling, regardless, as soon as I get close to that treasure. I know...
  45. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

I'm going to have to disagree with this. I have found that enemies that either emerge from the earth right under your feet or come down from the ceiling/trees is quite common. I experienced it three times during my last play session alone. There was a passage near Ciel Lake in Sylvalum where...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

The gating in this game is pretty blatant. It's pretty obvious that there are sections that you simply are not supposed to go through yet. But the worst of the worst is when things pop up out of the ground or miraculously appear in the air in front of you and wreck you. Like the spider creatures...
  47. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

It can feel like you have to grind, and in some parts I definitely agree with this. But I think I may have a solution. I may seem like a waste of time, but this is how I played Xenoblade and it's how I'm playing X and I have not had to grind at all: - First, never fast travel; always walk...

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

Skells are literally a game changer. Ever since I got mine, I've started to enjoy the game a lot more. I'm doing a bunch of side quests, exploring new areas ... it really did breathe new life to the game. I'm trying to get everyone to at least level 30 so I can buy them all their own frame...
  49. CrimsonCavalier

    Xenoblade Chronicles X

Just so everyone knows: be careful around the bottomless pit in Oblivia. If you give your party members brand new Skells, they can and will walk off the cliff with it and destroy it.
