My name is Claire, as you can see, and yes that is my real name. I was named after family, a great great uncle and my great grandma. My great grandma was also named after her great grandma. Even though my parents went to the trouble of naming me after my great grandma and my great grandpa's deceased brother (Yes, his brother's name was Clare), my great grandma responded with, "I like Clara Beth better." I wouldn't change my name, even though I don't love the meaning, I am happy to carry down some memory of my family.
