Some more interesting news has popped up at some of our various affiliates, and I'd like to do a round up of what's going on. In fact, this seemingly has turned into a bi-weekly event (every two weeks or so). I'll probably continue to do this so if you are an affiliate of Zelda Dungeon and ever want something posted here, just let me know.

Our friends at Legends and Adventure (http://www.legendofzeldaseries.com/) are holding a fan fiction contest, in which they are giving away prizes that add up to $100! The contest is simple, just type up a fan fiction that has some relation to the Zelda series and send it in. There is a 3000 word limit on stories though, so keep them short and sweet. There are three judges for the contest who will determine which sites get the award. First price is given a $60 Amazon gift card, with second getting a $30 card, and third getting a $10 card. For more information on the contest and how you can enter, check out the Legends and Adventure Contest Page (http://www.legendofzeldaseries.com/main.php?page=contest.html).

We have recently added a brand new Zelda affiliate, Portal to Hyrule (http://portaltohyrule.com/). They are a brand new Zelda website who are just now getting their feet wet in the community. Much of their site is still under heavy development but they have a nice, simple layout design as well as a small, but growing vBulletin forum.

We have also gathered quite a few new gaming sites to affiliate with. These sites include Ciel Network (http://www.ciel-network.com/), Fire Emblem Empire (http://www.fireemblemempire.com/), Forever Fantasy (http://www.forever-fantasy.net/), Chocobo Heaven (http://www.chocoboheaven.com/), Forgotten Memories (http://forgottenmem.net/), Rockman.exe HQ (http://www.exehq.com/), Final Fantasy Rebirth (http://www.ffrebirth.com/), The Tanooki (http://www.thetanooki.com/), Diablo 3 Blog (http://diablo3blog.blogspot.com/) and Call of Duty 4 Central (http://www.cod4central.com/). These sites cover a range of game franchises including Final Fantasy, Call of Duty, Mega Man, Kingdom Hearts, and more.

Is it just me or does Portal to Hyrule Look ALOT like my site Justzelda.com...

Even the webmasters avatar he uses for the site is the EXACT same picture that my Co-Webmaster uses.

DekuKid - DekuLink.

His site seems to have taken some "ideas" from mine...

I am I alone on that or does anyone agree?

Thewindmaker, nice of you to sign up here. Always nice to see fellow webmasters at this place.

I can see the resemblance of the layout... but I think it's mostly just the colors. Honestly, that type of standard, green, symmetric, two navigation bar layout is nothing original. A lot of sites have used that in the past and I don't necessarily think that it resembles your site more than it did other similar sites. It is just in this case, the colors are strikingly similar, so the eyes see the same thing.

Anyway, I'll give them a chance. There aren't as many Zelda sites that are active nowadays and new sites popping up are becoming hard to come by. We'll see if they can be some sort of surprise and keep their launch momentum going.

yeah I've had a few accounts here, but always seem to go inactive and then have my account deleted lol. Ill try to stick around a little bit longer aha.

Yeah I agree that my site isn't anything simillar, but it was the first time I'd seen a site SO close to another one. But that may just be my protective side coming out.

Anyways I don't have a problem with it, however if he did take some ideas from my site, I would have liked an email or something just notifying me of it.
If he didn't take any ideas and it's pure coincidence then wow thats amazing.

Anyways hope all is going well with your site and yes I too hope his site can maintain the momentum it has so far collected!

Does it really matter...?
They don't even look the same...the only comparison I could make is they're both Zelda sites.

Well as I had said in my latest post, No I don't really care.

But either I am stupid or you are blind, because the site DOES have similarities to mine.
I am not going to take the time to list out the similarities, as I do not believe it to be worth my while. If you however still cannot see them, I would advise to look a little harder.

Oh right, both have the text "Zelda" in the header >_>

If you're talking about the glossy design, then that's nothing new...a lot of sites have that.

I never said it WAS!!! I was merely asking if anyone else saw the similarities between the two sites.

Holy smokes people.

Many sites have similarites. My site is blue, and so is ZD. omg.

It doesn't really matter...unless it looks EXACTLY like yours or exactly but with a few mods....then we have a problem.

Sure it's nothing new when a site steals content or a layout, but that's clearly not the case here. Heck, they don't even have any content yet. They launched more or less empty and have not really added any new content since launch.

The color shades are similar but nothing more.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here. They are trying... Although from what I've seen since launch, I don't know how aspiring they are. There have been two updates on 'affiliates' and one about being lazy. That's never a good sign.
