Several months ago, we decided that Zelda Dungeon needed a makeover. There were many things set in stone that we weren't very pleased with and wanted a drastic change. Part of what I didn't like personally about our old setup was that we were rather limited with what we could do with our walkthroughs, in terms of space and coding capabilities.

With the Ocarina of Time walkthrough, I tried out a pop out script that made a box appear with a larger image and comments when you put your mouse over the smaller screenshot tabs. This was great... Except that it didn't always work and the loading time made me cringe...

With that being said, I'm trying to do away with having massive scripts on individual pages. I have uploaded the next section of the Ocarina of Time walkthrough (http://www.zeldadungeon.net/Zelda05-ocarina-of-time-walkthrough-05.php), and this time it's spiffier than ever before. It's much more snug, compact, efficient, and you don't have to scroll as much. There's nearly twice as many screenshots as before and all of them come equipped with comments you don't have to click or hover over to see. Overall it's quite the improvement.

This section of the walkthrough deals with Zora's River all the way through Jabu Jabu's Belly. The Fishing Pond is in this chapter, so I went ahead and started working on the Fishing Pond Guide (http://www.zeldadungeon.net/Zelda05-ocarina-of-time-fishing-pond.php) itself. A great thanks goes out to RyanNope (http://www.zeldadungeon.net/forum/member.php?u=121) at the Zelda Dungeon forums for helping me write the Fishing Pond guide. Rock on dude! I've only done the child half of the guide though, I'll perfect and finish it off when I get there.

Please feel free to comment on your likes and dislikes about this new walkthrough style and additions to the Fishing Pond guide in this thread on our forums.

The only problem I find with your walkthrough Caleb, is thats its not newbie friendly. You seperate each chapter with a title that seems irrelevant to the game and looking for an exact location someone could be stuck in game is frustrating. Dont get me wrong, I give you props for the catchy titles, but I think being more professional is the way to go.

Yeah. I like the way Strategy Wiki (http://strategywiki.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Ocarina_of_Time/Walkthrough) has it set up, though I think I'd do more like Spiritual Stone of Water for the chapter titles... Maybe I'll change all the chapter titles down the road.

It's things like the subsection "5.2 Zora" in this chapter that get to me... It covers:
Hyrule Field --> Zora's River --> Zora's Domain --> Zora's Fountain

How can I condense all of that into two or three words for a subsection title? Thus, I came up with the word: Zora. It seems appropriate to me, either that or another... catchy title...

Yeah I just viewied the main index walkthrough page and it does give each section better descriptions.

Part of the reason I have it set up the way I do is I'm trying to keep the "Official Guide" (text document I put on GameFAQs.com) the same as the site walkthrough. If I have Chapter titles the same as the subsection titles, it ruins the search feature I use for the official guide (Ctrl F + "*Forest Temple" for example). Either way it makes it more confusing... =(

Yeah I just viewied the main index walkthrough page and it does give each section better descriptions.

Once I redo the OoT walkthrough index page, I plan on putting some screenshots and other pictures in there too to make it more clear, such as a sprite image of the medallion, etc.

I think a subtitle for each section in the main walkthrough-page would help with that, like "Smells Fishy" have the subtitle "Spiritual Stone of Water" written. That way newbies can still find the page they want, and we can still have the catchy titles ^^

Nice walkthrough. The pictures make the story extra clear and the titles are catchy.
