They are not comparable!! If ph was a tick ww would be an elephant. And I do not believe that elephants get infested (right word?) by ticks, too thick skin I suppose :hmm:

Well i do like both of the games but i like Phantom Hourglass more.I like the plot more in PH because its different from the whole Ganon stuff. And i think PH is more fun too play then WW,its just the atmosphere and things like that that make PH more fun for me.

I've only played Wind Waker, and that game would be hard to beat IMO. Maybe in a few years I'll have the chance to play PH and see for myself.

A love both of them, for different reasons.

If I had to pick one or the other, I'd probably pick Wind Waker, simply because I've been playing it longer, and therefore I know every part of it by heart (it was also the first zelda game I ever beat).

Wind Waker was awesome a) Because it was an amazing game rivaling if not passing Ocarina of Time in terms of epicness (I base this on the ending sequence, where Ganondorf is stabbed in the head and says "The wind....is blowing....")

b) It had more of an "open" feeling....more of a free feeling than the others. The sailing gave the feeling of timelessness....that you could get to the actual game whenever you wanted to, but chose not to.

c) a lot of your are going to hate me for this, but.....I thought the graphics were great. As a friend of mine put it, everyone wants a realistic-looking zelda game, but let's face it, it will never be perfect. and as i (me, powerbracelet) put it, among current styles, toon link personifies the mood of wind waker very well.

Now, Phantom Hourglass was an excellent game, too. And much better than people give it credit for. The controls were easy to get used to, and the Ocean King reminded me of the time feature on Majora's Mask (my other all-time favorite Zelda game.

The Wind Waker by far. I think it wasn't a very good idea to make a DS Zelda game. I didn't like the controls that much, and it was very short and easy, and just didn't spike my interest. The Temple of the Ocean King was very annoying as well, which I sort of liked. :P

But the Wind Waker excelled in many ways.

wind waker. ph was really disappointing for me. i didn't like the style of the game (the top view 3d) you couldn't move as freely that way. it was alsoo too short and too easy. wind waker was amazing, good length, difficult enough, huge overworld, etc

Man, it's hard to decide, now that I've played both. They were both good in their own ways, but PH didn't have as long of sailing periods as WW. I also liked the controls of PH, being something completely new and only possible on the DS, so far. But WW was the original Toon Link game. The downside to both games is that there weren't too many completely new items, except the grappling hook, and the Deku leaf in WW, but PH had new ways to use the items. I'd say I probably enjoyed PH more overall, but WW was a very fun game too.

Well i wouldn't mind a DS Zelda i just don't like the controls that much :hmm:
I would say WW though but PH is good too.

The Wind Waker, definitely. Phantom Hourglass was way too easy.

They're both great games, but I like The Wind Waker more. PH was easy which made it seem really short, but the controls were fun and it was enjoyable. But WW was longer and a better game IMO.

I am actually surprised to see as many people liking PH better. To me, they are not even comparable. One is a big, home system Zelda, and the other is a handheld. I separate these titles when choosing favorites. But comparing WW and PH???? Wow.

Wind Waker by far. PH actually impressed me more than I had originally thought, but it wasn't enough to actually have me place it above a big title like WW.

WindWaker because I liked that game but I didn't really like Phantom Hourglass.

it's not that easy to compare..well...both are great games..but the problem comes here:

WW is for a home console
PH is for a Portable console
WW is view in 3rd person
PH is viewed in 3rd person from the top/side/diagonal
The sailing in WW is just a huge pain in the *** and PH's is way much better, however,WW is way bigger and harder(even though it's not that hard) than PH

I liked both games, but WW is a bit better in my opinion. WW had a better story and there were more islands to explore.

The Wind Waker felt much more complete as a Zelda Game than PH. I have to with Wind Waker.

I'd have to say both.because windwaker it is hard which makes it easy.but phantom hourglass you can slay phantoms ride your own ship,so i'd say both.

I like them both, they are hard to compare. The gameplay in WW is better but PH is very different then the other games being on the DS with the touchsreen and everything. I like them both.

I loved the Wind Waker, it was refreshing, especially the unique story and music. Phantom Hourglass, at least what I have seen of it, has the aspects of a tranditional hand-held. But, still the nostalgic feel of Zelda. I think they are both great in the ways of platform, and handheld.

Windwaker had an incredible story and pretty good gameplay, whereas Phantom hourglass focused more on the gameplay style; although it still had story, it was nothing compared to the Wind Waker. It didn't scream "Legend".

All in all, they were both great games, although I would prefer the Wind Waker.

The Wind Waker, no doubt.

There was a more adventurous feel to the Wind Waker to me than Phantom Hourglass. Not only thing, but I feel that Phantom Hourglass was rather short and easier to complete than other handheld Zelda games, and console Zelda games.

Although PH was WAY too short a game, it is a nice thing to play while waiting in your house or a car (as long as your not driving)

WW has to be my favourite Zelda game ever. Just remembering back when I was younger, finnally beating the Forsaken Fortress and saving Aryll... just to be thrown out by a bird with a mask. :hmm:

I actually can't choose...

Wind Waker. PH got on my nerves. Tetra would NEVER get caught by a stupid ghost ship. She's way too cunning for that. GRR.

I still can't beat it!

I change my post that I had before. Now I like WW more. It is WAY funner. It wasn't hard, but it was more challenging than PH. I liked the sounds too (like when you slashed someone with your sword)

WW is better. ph was too easy for me.

i like both games, but i like wind waker a little more...

the biggest reason for that is because wind waker doesnt send me to the same dungeon several times throughout the game, with a time limit that makes me panic and can mess me up.

they're both fun in their own way, though.

I haven't played windwaker, but I've seen enough of it to know that it's better than PH
