Sages in the Mirror Chamber

The sages that are in the Mirror Chamber, the ones with the funky looking masks that were going to 'kill' Ganondorf in the cut-scene after Arbiter's Grounds.

Are these supposed to actually be the same sages from Ocarina of Time? If so, which one of them was killed off by Ganondorf? If not, are these sages just random people, or do they related to any previous Zelda title?

They seem... pretty intense, with their somewhat scary looking masks and their look in general. Was wondering if there was more to them.

Just by their appearance, I sort of doubted that they were the OoT sages, but perhaps they're incarnates or descendants of them or something similar?

well, this si where it's confusing. these sages are saposedly Zelda's teachers, but, also, they are the guardians of the mirror. Since the mirror had to have been there since before then, this means they must predate the OoT sages. Since you are 'awakening sages' in OoT maybe it is, in fact, that the OoT sages are actually avatars for the sages? they could not cross into the light realm at the time, or could not leave the mirror, so used these new sage Avatars to use through the Hero of Time?

hm avatars for the sages, that's interesting. It would give awakening the sages in OOT a new meaning.

Like i said, an absolute stretch, but it alows actually both ALTTP's background of the maidens all being hylians and TP's forms of the sages as well. For all we know the3se ghostly figures could be newer 'avatars' for the sages, but, ganondorf's power was so great from the triforce of power that when he destroyed the sage of water's avatar it also lashed out and destroyed the true sage of water...

Or maybe the sages in OoT were mere reincarnations? i dunno, lol.

I think it's safe to assume that this is some time after OoT, so it would be new sages. Unless the six sages are all immortal or something, but I doubt that that's the case. They can be spirits of these older sages too. I, however, believe that the sages of OoT passed with their lives, and their titles went to new ones, and to new ones. Perhaps the goddesses saw it fit for these ghostly figures to become the new sages.

Oh, and it was the Water Sage that was killed

If so that screws up the timeline really bad if you follow it.

Anyways I believe they are just a bunch of new sages. And Ganondorf killed the Water Sage.... why not the Light? xD.
