Okay, so i was wondering exactly how the flood was supposed to have happened in Hyrule. Was it Lake Hylia that flooded? or if Termina was part of Hyrule, did Termina Bay flood? I'm open to all thoughts. I do know this is a video game and anything can happen but still.

The Gods flooded Hyrule because the Hero (Link) didn't come back to beat Ganondorf.

One thing that I don't understand is that there is no Link in Hyrule in either timeline, right? In the future, Link was sent back in time. In the past, he went off on his own journey (Majora's Mask).

Is this inferring that in the child timeline with Majora's Mask, that Link came back AFTER the game and defeated Ganon? Does this mean that in one timeline, he came back and defeated Ganon (was this TP), and in the other timeline he never came back since he no longer existed in the future and thus the flooding? (TWW)

He was locked up in both timelines and Link had gone away. Unless there is another game with the SAME Link from OOT/MM, there is a hidden story where Link prevents Ganon from escaping. I believe in both cases there was no Link in Hyrule and Ganon was sealed, thus, when Ganondorf broke free, why wouldn't there be a flood in BOTH timelines? With the Wind Waker taking placing in one of them.

Shadow Goris, have you never heard of Noahs Arc? 40 days and 40 nights of rain? You know purificiation of the Earth, its a very similar situation here. And yes thats is somewhat why they flooded Hyrule. The people waited for the hero to show, and he never did, the people then turned to the Gods but at that point Ganon had already conquered Hyrule and that was when the Gods flooded Hyrule.

@ Mases They didnt flood both worlds, or Twilight Princess' Hyrule would also be flooded.

I get that the gods flooded hyrule, but why? That killed many people most likely! Besides it didn't kill ganon. And, i don't think nintendo had any idea to incoeperate the noah's arc in zelda...

They did it so Ganondorf couldn't take over Hyrule, which would be underwater.

Don't questions the Gods' decisions...
