In Goron Mines, in the room that is outdoors where there are a ton of bokoblin archers (There is also one of those huge rotating magnetic cranes). The room that was actually in the initial demo of the game that was playable at E3 before release.

Anyway, in this huge room, there is a treasure chest in the far northwest corner and the very top. (northeast for cube version). You cannot reach it while playing through the Goron Mines, but can only get it if you return to the Mines after getting the Clawshot. Okay, I understand that, but inside the chest is just a purple rupee...

What is the point of this? Who in there right mind would return to the Goron Mines after getting the weapon from the next temple just to get a treasure chest. Actually, it isn't even obvious that you can even reach the treasure chest with the clawshot and would only know if you used a guide or you tried it out yourself.

For those Zelda enthusiasts who absolutely have to have everything 100% including getting all the treasure chests, what would they do in this case? I was writing a guide for the dungeon and I like to include every last thing, but is it really worth mentioning the treasure chest AFTER the Lakebed Temple. This was rather frustrating trying to figure out how to get the treasure chest, and even harder trying to figure out where to include it in a guide. Stupid useless crap.

I agree who in their right minds would even think that there was something all the way up in the goron mines.

I haven't seen that treasure chest yet, but if it's only worth a purple rupee I don't want to look for it. You can put the chest in the guide in the goronmine section with the information that it can only be reached with the clawshot.

I've noticed a lot of useless chests in twilight princess, its like the producers spread out the whole game on the pc and just scrolled with the mouse down while copying and pasting the chests around the world filled with useless junk.

It is impossible to get all tresure chests in TP since that game made it where if your rupee bag can't hold any more rupees, it puts it back in the chest and wastes 30 seconds of your life each time. Ok, maybe not impossible but pretty close, you'd have to fill uop your rupee bag, go buy a bunch of pointless items, go get more chests, etc.

uuuhm you are forgetting one huge point here.
clawshot can 't grab on to a chest.
the hookshot can only do that.

I agree who in their right minds would even think that there was something all the way up in the goron mines.

look i also agree its weird that they put a chest all the way up there but, you don 't need to think or guess where a chest is, i mean you have a compas.

as far for my opinion, yeah its strange, but i'm not sure that the clawshot is the only way to get to that chest maybe you can climb somewhere or something. well i will go back to that temple myself to confirm it. :)

EDIT:
so i checked it out myself and yeah, there is no way you can get that to that chest without the clawshot, weird. i don 't know if nintendo did that on purpose or just remaining data from the demo version.

Same here, which is why amidst my post-game heart piece collecting, I've been visiting all the dungeons and opening each treasure chest. I put on the magic armor for a while if I need to.

You know, I feel really stupid now! Because when I find a chest that has rupees in it but my wallet is full, I leave, buy something and then come back! I can honestly say I never thought of wearing the Magic Aromor! >.<

no i want to save those rupee chests (well except in temples) in case i need rupees.

by the way, the next room where you can get the that puple rupee only with the clawshot.
you can actually fish there, and they are quite big 2. quite funny, link takes a break to fish in a temple.

yeah, some parts really did fela like they just scattered chests here and there in the temple, chose which ones would have useful stuff, then just asigned a random number generator to asign rupee amounts for the chests that werent used for anything. Anoying. At least in OOT/MM/WW etc, if a chest was out of the way, and you found it, you'd get somthing worth it.

I've been replaying Twilight Princess as I've been writing the walkthrough and I keep trying to find efficient ways of telling people about these rupees. It's like... in the walkthroughs, I want to cover ALL of these miscellaneous treasure chests. However, if I cover them all, it's clear that the players wallet will have filled up.

So I'm leading people to treasure chests that are full, even though I know they probably have a full wallet. It is rather annoying for guide writing that there are so many.

What I've been doing is leading them to all the chests, but then saying that they might already have a full wallet. Just keep this place in my mind when you need rupees in the future. Although there really is only a select few portions that you ever really NEED rupees.

Yeah that's only thing I don't like about TP, you should still be able to claim the rupee like you would from a killed enemy, it adds needless time and frustration in some of the later dungeons if you max out your rupees before going or in the dungeon.

That is kinda dumb of Nintendo like you go through all the trouble of getting the clawshot go back to the temple and all it is is 50 rupees should be 100 rupees at least. That is very usless. And then again its not that usless because you should collect money.

You know, lets say if it was a piece of heart or something. Wouldn't that even be more annoying? I mean, it would be such a hard treasure chest to really remember, unless you have a strategy guide. Nobody would want to go back there. Heck, it is not only in the dungeon, but it is near the end of the dungeon as well. You'd still have to through the entire dungeon just to even get there.

There are just so many things wrong with this stupid treasure chest.

Or just use the magic armor if you have it to waste away rupees.

But anyway, that's pretty stupid. A chest all the way in the Goron Mines that can only be reached with the Clawshot. And near the end of the dungeon? I don't think I'd want to go all the way back through the dungeon after completing it just to get a stupid treasure chest. If it was a Heart Piece then I wouldn't mind, but a purple rupee just isn't worth it imo. :P

I don't think chest should ever have rubies in them. Countless times in pretty much every zelda game I have gotten really excited when I see a cest in a dungeon

"ooo! maybe it's the map, or the item, or even a key!....oh! it's just rubies"

It's heartbreaking!

I would go and get that chest, whether there was 50 rupees in there or a Piece of a Heart. I would go and get it if my wallet was completely full. You wanna know why? Well, I've always just been the kind of guy who doesn't really care. I don't necessarily want to complete the game fully, I just wanna go for the hell of it.
