Something occurred to me today, We pretty much know that MM took place in a parallel dimension, but what if it's also an parallel time line as well? What I mean is, the time lines were the same up until a certain point. (kind of like FMA) Ikana being ancient Hyrule and the people of Stone Tower being an enemy, lets use Gerudo.

Long ago Gerudo Invaded Hyrule causing Hyrule to fall as a power thus allowing the Gerudo to thrive but eventually fell due to some unknown factor. Many years pass and clock town is formed, beginning a new era of civilization.

Another thing that I though of is, maybe Termina is the Future of Hyrule. Maybe Link ended up warping several hundreds of years forward to a time when democracy was formed. (i.e. The Mayor) and Ikana being the end of Hyrule as it was known before.

Well... he is the hero of time, and the theory can be true, but I still think it's pretty far-fetched... it needs way more evidence than just a theory. But whatever, this forum is made for theorys...

Exactly, these are THEORIES. Although when I write them I try my best to provide as much evidence as possible.

Ryannope, that makes somewhat sense...Termina has always given me that mysterious sense to it. Koholint was sorta the same...but that is proven to be a dream (a coma to be more precise IMO,maybe i'll explain that at another time).

I don't even think Termina is an actual parallel dimension...its just another world to Hyrule, like China to the US or something like that. Thats just what I think because of all the relations to Hyrule...

There was also a theory about Ikana...I forgot what it is or where I found it, but it was really interesting. I'll have to find it again and post it here.

It's just another land. Link has left Hyrule in other games as well, why would this one be any different? Before the game begins, Zelda gives Link the Ocarina of Time before he sets off to find "his beloved friend." How could he travel away and end up being zipped back to Hyrule in an alternate timeline/era? He's just passing through :P

Now, everybody knows that Lost Woods are pretty f'ed up. I assume he is traveling there, and we already knows that you can land up almost anywhere when leaving. So why coudn't time be involved either?

ok only clue's i can think of is link, four giants and skull kid.
before termina was made and the four directions, the skull kid knew the giants back then.
and the skull kid is the same skullkid who gave you a piece of hearth when you played saria 's song.

i can only agree with one thing, i also assume that link was traveling in lost woods.
but that termina and hyrule is the same thing? i don 't think so. i can 't proove it without evidence but lets stay with the fact that hyrule was created by the goddeses and termina by the giants.

this is what I know about majora's mask sorry if it's a bit off topic

the story goes that before the time setting of Majora's Mask there lived an evil creature which fed on the desires of the countless numbers of humans who had come before it to try and claim its armor and be granted their wishes. A traveler (who looks similar to the Fierce Deity) came forward to the place where the monster lived. He came up to the man-eater and started talking with it. He found out that the monster itself wanted to die, being so miserable. So then the hero pulled out his bongo and started playing. The monster went into a trance and started dancing. The hero played for three days straight (probably why Majora wants to finish off the world in three days) and then the beast dropped dead from dancing his heart out. The hero took its magical armor but instead of wishing upon it, he carved it into a mask in an attempt to seal the beast's power inside the mask forever. The mask was named after the beast, Majora. The mask had a spirit because Majora's evil power lingered on inside the mask seeking a host, not resting until its wish was granted.

I agree that Link was traveling in the Lost Woods at the beginning of MM. However, I also think the Skull Kid knew of this "secret place", aka Termina. Because if you recall, the Skull Kid led Link into a hallowed out tree that led into another dimension. So, Termina could be an alternate universe or just a parallel world. It pretty much leaves you with an open mind and in the end that allows you to somewhat create your own story. That is the whole point of the Zelda series, to have your own idea of what is happening in which time era.

Where did everyone get that weird story about majora?!

I think that's from Majora's Mask manga.

I accept that Termina is another dimension, but what happend after Link destroyed the moon? He just leave Termina, and then what happend? And there's not been any seguels to MM.
I think that this Link just went for another adventure, and adventured till the day he died, end of story.

uhm yea I agree..
I don't think it's a "parallel demension", cuz' it's probably somewhere near hyrule or something b/c link is looking for navi.. I think.. It said that in the beginning so yeah..
