Favorite sidekick

well as the title says, who is you fave sidekick in the zelda series.

some people may hate navi, but for me she was not that annoying. The thing is, is that navi had hardly a personality in the game. i find Tatl more annoying then navi because of her "know it all" personality.

midna rocks, really a funny character and she was also a huge part of the storyline. she actually helps link transform and teleport anytime you want.

but my fave side kick will always be Ezlo, man i love that hat, he is to funny.

Does anyone else imagine Ezlo's dialog being delivered by Gilbert Gottfried? or is that just me.

Maybe it's the beak, and the fact that Gilbert Gottfried voiced Iago in Alladin. And some of his dialog was similar to Iago too, especially when he started complaining, and nagging at Link. But I always imagined Ezlo talking like Gilbert Gottfried, and sort of found that annoying in a way.

I rather find Linebeck to be one of the more interesting characters in Phantom hourglass. He's certainly one of the more dynamic characters in the game, perhaps even in much of the series. Maybe it's just because it's the newer game in the series, but Linebeck is my favorite sidekick of late.

I would say Midna. She is very mysterious and at times quite a smart ***, good stuff.

Hm... A tough one... Midna was cool in her own way, but Linebeck was cool because he was hilarious at certain points. Navi was a good sidekick too, but as Oni said, she doesn't have much of a visible personality. She's rather... static.

No, of course not. He's very reminiscent of Captain Jack Sparrow. I wouldn't go so far as to say a blatant rip-off, but I think Jack Sparrow was clearly an inspiration for the character.

Hmm... I don't remember any of the "sidekicks," as you call them, being extremely annoying. Navi helped me out in a few boss battles, but was a little annoying when you were on your way to Zora's Domain and she yells out "Where's that icy breeze coming from!?" Navi would definately be my least favourite of the many helpers who aided link in his quests.

Next to Navi would have to be Tatl. I mean come on, another fairy? Why could they have, like, a mask or something that talked to you? It would suit the theme of the game, and would be more original. Tatl wasn't as annoying as Navi, but still isn't way up there in my favourite sidekicks.

Terra and the King of Red Lions (I think that was the boat's name in The Wind Waker...) I think could be considered one sidekick, since they did use the same means of communication. Not many of you had mentioned these two. Probably because they're non-physical conversations were usually very brief, but somewhat helpful none the less.

Midna reminded me somewhat of a cat. Except she walked around on two legs... and could talk... and didn't scratch up your couch! >=( Anyway, she was a bit more helpful than the previous fairies I think. She helped out more than the dumb fairies who would stand there and tell you "Do this fool!", whereas Midna would say "I'll help you do this fool!" The battle with Ganon comes to mind. Without Midna you probably wouldn't have defeated him. Or if you did defeat it would have taken all of Link's goat wrangling skills.

I liked Ciela in PH, but she seemed TOO helpful at times. I suppose thats good for newbies to the Zelda series, but for someone who's been through it all, things are just too obvious for words sometimes. A giant crack in the wall means you bomb it, I know. Yes, I know I'm supposed to open the door with a key. etc.

I tend to be a bit of a loner in real life. I'd rather do things alone most of the time, so thats why I liked the older Zelda games more. In the first three, you're pretty much always alone, and I liked that. Navi never really annoyed me much. Tatl seemed useless, things that I didn't understand in MM weren't pointed out like they were in OoT, and things that I already knew, Tatl would point out.

Linebeck for sure. He is the most hilarious character in the entire Zelda franchise. The part when Oshus, Ciela, and Link are speaking on the Ghost Ship, and Linebeck is playing with the solid stone Tetra statue was absolutely hilarious. He knocks it down, then tries to pick it up, and pretends nothing happens.

Overal though, the communication between Linebeck and Ciela is priceless. He is just so lazy, doesn't do anything but clean his ship, yet he takes the credit for most the stuff, and takes a few shots at Link while he's at it.

but i agree with you about Tatl, she acts all high and mighty but she doesn 't help you that much. and at the end finnaly you saved her brother and friend and she tells you to get lost because they got a carnival to celebrate. why not invite link? he's got a lot of masks to show of, he would be the star of the carnaval.

Linebeck was a coward, and I swear he always made you do the work xD I didn't like Navi at all, annoying little fairy. I hated Tatl too. Midna was okay. Moosh was a bear with wings, wtf? Dimitri was plain awesome, and so was Ricky. I pick Dimitri.

Personally, Lineback was humerous at times. But sometimes he was just so rude it got annoying quickly. Other than that I enjoyed Elzo. He was a rather nice looking hat, and I always liked the little squawk he made.

thats a really good question.
lets see.
navi and tatl = Z-target and giving info about enemies
king of red lions = sailing and guiding(its more like commanding) link sometimes
ezlo= shrinking, can use as parachute lol, and talking 2 much with its beak.
midna = helping in wolf form, later tranforms you in wolf form and teleport.
lineback = well u use its ship like most of the time.
ciela = talking 2 much, well at least you can upgrade her with courage gems.

so i would say navi or tatl. well tatl is more annoying for me so i go with tatl.
think about it, first they scare you off your horse, horse get horsnapped, when link becomes a cursed deku, tatl gives link a 4 hit combo. and then she askes to open the door for her, if thats not enough she askes you to stop skullkid. man was busy finding navi, and then a stupid yellow selfish fairy shows up acting like high and mighty.

Midna wasn't useless. In fact she was very helpful. Sure she was mean at times and was the reason that Link's adventure lasted as long as it did, but some things would have been impossible without her. I also liked having her around as a wolf. I kinda felt like I wasn't alone, even though she was just a video game character.

Tatl was just plain rude, and King of Red Lions, was kinda pushy. I haven't seen any of the others, so I can't say.
Midna was bossy at first, but she's still really cool, and Navi I quite enjoyed for some random reason.

PH=Linebeck
OoT=Zelda She wasn't in it the whole game but when she helped it was for something big or important
WW=Maker he was the dumbest one
LoZ=none there was no partner in this game

I can't remember every character from every game. I know a few more but I think that I have enough.

Midna was definitly my favorite sidekick, tied with Navi.

Midna was really cool because she could transform you into a wolf. She also played a major part in the story line, where Navi was simply a Sidekick. Another cool thing about Midna was that she was the Queen of the Twilight Realm.

Navi was a good sidekick because she would provide you with vital info about many enemies and bosses. She would also help you target enemies and items where Midna wouldn't do any of that. Navi was cool too!

So I guess they are pretty even! Either way, they are amazing sidekicks!

Anyways, my favorite sidekick is definitely Navi. She was very helpful, she gave you hints on where to go next, she gave you a warning if an enemy was nearby, and targeted enemies for you, which was quite handy. The other sidekicks are cool too, but Navi beats them all.

no way. linebeck is a wimpy jerk and jack is a reckless wierdo. But they're both hilarious!

Anyway, my favorite sidekick is Linebeck. He had amazing character development in the game! He went from being stuck in a simple spike trap at the Temple Of The Ocean King, to stabing Bellum in the tentacle, thus risking his life for Link, Tetra, and (inderectly) the Ocean King!:clap:^^

My favorite is Midna, she's really funny and weird, and, at the end of the game, she turns out to be really hot! Just Kidding, but still, she's my favorite. Linebeck would be my second, though he does end up becoming the game's final boss. Hmm....
