Ever since Majora's Mask came out, and I heard the classic Zelda theme in Termina Field, I just thought to myself, when are they gonig to bring back the Dark World theme song. I thought for sure it would be back in Twilight Princess since it fits that type of atmosphere, but no, nothing.
Personally, the Link to the Past Dark World theme song is my favorite song in all of the gaming world. I'm very interested to see the new version that will be coming to the next Super Smash Bros installment. At least they haven't completed forgotten it.
It leaves the question for future Zelda games. Will old classic songs ever return? How about same classics but remastered and orchestrated. I'd love to see the Adventure of Link town theme come back. As well as various other songs.

I agree. I would love to see the great palace theme from AoL come back as well as dark world theme. But TWW had a lot of returning music, TP had some. Both TP and TWW had the Hyrule Castle theme from ALttP, whcih was pretty cool. And ever since OoT (with exception of MM) came out, we have yet to hear the classic overworld theme in a 3d Zelda, I wonder what the reason behind this is. I feel almost like its not even a Zelda game without this music....TP's credits had it, but not its overworld...

Hey all.
I agree, Twilight Princess was odd because all the music was new to me, except for the Hyrule Castle Theme. Which is one of my favorites, so that's good.
I really love the music for the sword duel between Ganondorf and Link... it fits the mood well.
Oh, and I play guitar and I've been working on a full instrumental album of LoZ music. It's gonna be awesome.

I prefered some of the older Zelda music better. By older, I mean everything before the Oracle series. ALttP had great music, as well as OoT. Lately, I've felt that the music in Zelda games was pretty boring...

Actually, when it came to the new music, I loved the music on TP, especially the Hyrule Field theme.
Although I would like for them to bring back some of the old music. I agree when it comes to the Dark World theme from ALTTP. Another one I liked back in the day was the song that plays in Link's Awakening if you type in "Zelda" as your name. As you're walking around in the town, this special song plays, and I loved it back when I played it last.

I loved the music on TP, and the music on MM. The music on the other Zelda games was okay, but I just loved the music on Twilight Princess and Majora's Mask.

Oh man, I love the Dark World theme. I learned to play it on the Ocarina (in real life). I also liked the dark world theme of Death Mountain.
I think I liked every single Zelda tune up to Majora's Mask. I like most from WW and PH, but Twilight Princess felt too orchestrated from what I've seen so far.

Well that's the thing: TP was orchestrated, while games like OOT and MM were all synthesized music for the N64. Some people, like me, prefer it when the music is orchestrated, because it sounds more.... more full, more authentic.
Don't get me wrong, the OOT and MM music was great, but orchestrated music is what I prefer.

personally I'm not much of an orchestral guy like Linkman, I prefer the older, digitalized tunes over the newer ones. I like the music from Link's Awakening and Link to the Past probably more than any others. It's undoubtedly because I grew up from the older tunes, and they just mean more to me than newer, possibly better sounding ones.

Looks like some of the music is coming back to the Smash Bros series, but what the heck, why not the actual Zelda series.
Like what Avenged said, not having the classic overworld tune in either the Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. Why not?!? Heck, I was upset when they didn't have it in Ocarina of Time as well. The Majora's Mask overworld theme brang back some good memories. The overworld theme needs to make a return in the next Zelda title.
Also, I do agree that the orchestrated music from Twilight Princess was good and all, but it could have been better. I don't think it has to do with if it was orchestrated or not, but rather, the actuals songs. I wouldn't mind seeing the actual classic Zelda music redone in full orchestrations. Some of the new tunes that they came up with in TP, fell short of my expectations.

I actually found some of TP's music upsetting. First off...Kakariko Village, why didnt they use the same music they always been using since ALttP...its priceless. The overworld wasnt very good at all, just seemed similar to OoT's which I didnt like very well neither.
Another theme I would love see a return is the Sanctuary music from ALttP. And Tal Tal Heights from LA.

Agreed. I'd have to say that this is a personal favorite of mine.
I actually really loved the music in TP. The overworld, Kakariko Village and the Hidden Village are by far my favorites.
As for the the Classic Theme playing in the Overworld; OOT was my first real Zelda experience, so I personally don't care whether they put it in or not.

Why oh why did they not include the Overworld 'classic' theme? Missing from OoT aswell?

There is a lot of older music that they still use in newer games, but then again there are a few I also would like to see return.
I would like most of the music back. Most I say, mainly from the older ones, weren't as pleasing.
I am quite happy though with how they redid the music for Brawl, I loved it.

Now, I would love to hear the Dark world theme music again. It was a great song and it would fit in perfectly in TP. Too bad it is not in TP.
