Out of the History of Nintendo which Console is your Favourite?

Here are a few of my Descriptions:

Nes- It was Epic for it's time and it was the Console that made Mario and Zelda famous as ever. The Games were simply awesome aswell when you think about it i mean... Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Contra, Megaman and all the others. I have to say though it is hard to compare with all the other Nintendo Game Systems though it is definently not the worst but nor the best.

Snes- Now this was what really made Zelda big indeed. A Link to the Past... it is hard to forget how Epic that game was... Now back to the main Description. The games stood out so much, the quality made these Games stand out alot after playing the old Nes ones. Super Metroid for an example, that was just pure Awesomesauce due to the new Action etc. This console was indeed amazing for it's time.

Nintendo 64- Now the amazing first 64 bit Console (other than the krappy Atari Jaguar). This made literally one of the Biggest Parts of Gaming History from my point of view. The Graphics/Gameplay/Controls for all the games stood out so much i felt it was pure amazement. There was one slight problem though, the Game titles lacked... Almost every game had 64 on the end, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Wave Race 64 EVERYTHING 64! but literally that isn't worth comparing to the Gameplay.

Gamecube- Ok, i am not going to lie. This was and still is my favourite console of them all. It indeed showed the future of Gameplay. Not much Zelda was shown on it but i literally loved it anyway. Super Mario Sunshine, alot of people thought it isn't worth comparing to Super Mario 64 but i thought the Controls and Gameplay and the big difference made it far better. The Mario Party series also made a big improvement, moar minigames and it was alot funner. Soul Caliber 2 which indroduced Link to Namco in an amazing fighting game was pure amazement. Super Smash Melee was no doubt the best game though, the Gameplay was awesome and i was stuck playing it for so long even after i completed it. No literally, this is no doubt my favourite Console.

Nintendo Wii- Ok, this was one hell of an Over-Hyped console. I liked it alot but i can't say it is AMAZING AWESOME AND EPIC. Almost everything is wii-remote controlled which can get annoying because i miss regular controllers alot. Twilight Princess really made a difference but still...
What i really liked about it though was the LOAD of new Features, the mii thing wasn't impressive but the fact that VC games were available and i could buy old games i didn't have that aren't in shops anymore was cool. I also like the fact that i can go on the Internet, it's handy when ma Laptop in under repairs. I don't know why they pointlessly threw a News and Whether channel in, i can see that any time on Foxtel Digital or at 5:00pm.

But yeah. My favourite is no doubt the GC

i like the n64 better than the rest because it built upon many great series like zelda and mario. it also started a new line of mario spin-offs like mario party. it also started the ssb series and thats awesome. although it was great, there was no new metroid game that appeared which stinks. i like all the systems to but the n64 just catches my the most.

I never owned the first three Nintendo consoles, so I go with Wii, mainly because of the VC allowing me to play all those fantastic games I missed.

*sigh* Nobody is going to say Gamecube at this rate though i expected that from the start.

It is understandable why you like the Nintendo 64 though and i suppose the wii aswell though i even liked the SNES better than the Wii.

Well, the only Nintendo console I've ever owned (not counting hand-helds, mind you) was a Gamecube, so I can't really compare them until I get more of them. I have played almost all of them though, minus the Wii.
I'm undecided.

I've owned all of them...and the Wii is my fave. Why? Because it has so many features. And the News/Weather Channles were thrown in their because I'am sure not everybody has "FOX Digital"...

ok i voted for n64

i'm not judging the consoles of the games you can play on but rather what the console itself
the design of n64 is awsome, not to mention it was the first console who make use of the analoge stick, and the first console that you can play with 4 players.

with GC i love the controller, its easy to use.
with wii, well the gameplay with the remote is unique

Same for me, I picked the snes for its technology (well games too :P). But for those that didnt know, the snes was actually the first nes system that supported 3D, not the N64. Need proof? Get yourself a Super Famicon which had dozens of addons, and play Starfox.

I couldn't really care less for who was 3D first i just liked the GC Games better than absolutely any other Console.

How could it not be the Wii? With the virtual console, it's every Nintendo console ever made. It's an NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube and Wii.
Aside from the Wii, it has to be the SNES. That system has many of the best games of all time. The N64 is my least favorite console.

no one said about something that n64 is the first nes system that suported 3D.

but anyway n64 games had also its downsides.
for instance, mario kart 64, why sprites? if they where afraid that there was too much data, that would be unlogical, even OOT and super mario 64 contains more data then mario karts 64.

and yes there are many games on snes, but that because there where no xbox and playstation. oh wait if i'm not mistaken xbox came out around the time of ps2 and gamecube.

but anyway as far as i can remember there was SNES and SEGA around that time. mant producers made most of the games for SNES.
like: Midway, Capcom, Square-Enix ect...
not to mention ninendo had his own exclusive games as well.

a other thing that was not so good on the n64 was the analoge stic, it may was one of the first one to make use of the analoge stick, but after i used it after a year of 3 or 4 the analoge stick became loose.

but still i voted for it because of its looks and design.

I have a Wii and I absolutely love my console, I play it all the time, and I cannot wait until I get some more games for it. I currently have Metriod Prime 3 and a bunch of VC games. I really wish they would release 64DD titles for the Wii though. My favourite probably has to be N64 though... It is like that hybrid of old school gaming with the carts and the new school graphics. I love how some much dev stuff was leaked. I find the comunity base behind N64 was really really great. Plus Nintendo left alot of beta on their cartridges!

I think the Wii is the best in its own respectable style of game play, and the graphics are stunning. However, the N64 had big names, titles, and great series, which some are legendary in their own terms. The GC had a few good titles and a couple of series I really liked, other then the Zelda and Mario franchises. The NES started it all, and without it, i doubt that gaming would barely be as popular as today. And the NES had some of the greatest titles, and franchises made truly what they are today. But at the end, i choose the Wii, not because of everyone saying ''new is better,'' but because of the great titles on it that are coming out, and the innovative game play.

The NES has my vote.It had began a lot of series such as Mario and Zelda. Not to mention it's innotiative effect on the gaming world today. Some games were known as the best selling games in the world.

Nintendo Gamecube for a multitude of reasons.

No online, I despise online gaming on consoles (Computer is different)
Great games, ranges from cutesy (I love cutesy games <3) to hardcore games like RE4.
Controler is an orgasm whenever I pick it up.

It's a friggin Cube dude!!!!!

I voted N64 because of the fact it owns everything ;) It had great games, the controller is very comfy, and many more good things. We still have it hooked up to a TV and play 4 player on Mario Party and Mario Kart all the time!! ( Toad all the way by the way ;) )

I loved the SNES, but I also loved the NES. The first console I played was the SNES, but I love the simplicity of the Original Nintendo. I'm more into retro games I guess. I'd still rather play Zelda, Mega Man, or Castlevania than play 95% of the games on the newest generations of consoles.

Unlike what everyone seems to be doing, I'm going to vote for my favourite console and not the one that had the coolest games with it's name on the side of the package. Wii, without a doubt, is the best Nintendo console if not only for the fact that majority of 'good' games found on all those other systems can easily be played on the Wii as well.

Onilink89

yeah the design for the wii is unique, but still the wii isn 't perfect, it also occurs some problems.
some like, that the discs will not load or the sensor bar, but most of the people don't read the manual when they bought the wii. because there is important information in that may cause problems in the future.

a while ago my wii had a moment that it had a high chance that it would often freeze when i played a game.
of course every console can freeze during a game, but that a wii freezes every day is not normal.
luckly i have warranty on that thing so i send it to nintendo, if it cannot be fixed they will just replace it for free.

anyway i have a "feeling" that the wii is rather sensetive or that it could easly break if you drop it or something like that.

Personally, I think I was really not a gamer until I got addicted to Ocarina of Time. Honestly, I grew up on NES and Super NES, but I only played them as a passtime, probably as much as I go outside and play nowadays. I later got a Super NES, and that was pretty cool, but until I played OoT, no video game really hit me. I suppose that was most likely because that was the first Zelda game I played, but still. If it hadn't started me as a gamer, I'd give my vote to the Game Cube, probably, but I'll have to say N64 on this one.

My favorite has to be the N64, I had the most fun on it and felt it was the most worth the money I paid for the games and the console, alas it was stolen in 01. My second favorite would have to be the Wii. It's just too fun.

I would have to say the Wii considering that it is the only Nintendo console that I have ever owned.

I would say the Super Nintendo since it platformed the greatest Zelda game ever created, ALttP. along with other great titles like Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, etc etc.

I would go with SNES because it has the most games I like on it but my SNES shuts off on me and now I can play those old games on the wii through wifi and the wii just well can do everything the other systems can and more. Yeah. I love my wii.

I grew up with the NES...my parents went entirely to PC gaming by the early 1990s and never bought the newer consoles until we got our first SNES around 2000 (used, of course).

I always liked the Nintendo 64. It was a classic console, and not too hard to use or anything. I always did like it. Plus, it housed my favorite game of all time, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

SNES would have to be my second favourite system because of all the great games that were sold for it. For example, "Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past," "Super Metroid" and "Super Mario World."

Wii is my favourite console because you can play all the great Wii games using the Wii remote, and also all my old Gamecube games.

It would most definatly be the NES because im oldschool and their are just so many classics. Shore you can download most on the wii but theres nothing better than pulling out the old gray box, blowing off the dust and hooking it up.

It's a hard choice between the N64 and the Wii.
The N64 housed the vast majority of my favorite games, but the Wii has the ability to download games from the other consoles.

I apparently picked N64 for the poll, but I really meant SNES, or now afterwards anyway. SNES was just such an amazing console, great sound capabilities, bood controler, crapload of awesome games in several gernes... God, I just love the SNES.

Wii is my favorite, N64 is my 2nd favorite. Wii's controls are so easy and its got the motion sensivity to do most of the work, you can download all the old games too.N64 had legendary games like OOT, MM, banjo kazooie, and banjo tooie.

Wow, you sure do like the word "epic". lol. But seriously, my favorite console is Wii. It has so many awesome games. Sure, it's 3rd-party games are horrendous, but the Nintendo games are instant classics. The motion controls are genius and it was a good idea to put in a menu thing seeing as 360 and PS3 both have menu things. I really liked the N64 but it's graphics weren't as great as PS1's and the controller was kinda weird in my opinion. Unfortunately, I wasn't even born to play the NES and SNES. The GCN was just ok. The XB and PS2 were better. When it comes to games, Super Mario Sunshine was a game about cleaning up things(yawn) and Luigi's Mansion was a stupid concept(Ghostbusters mario-style). Though I did like Paper Mario: TTYD, the Metroid games, Mario Kart: Double Dash and LOZ: Wind Waker. Wind Waker is actually my favorite Zelda game and my favorite game of all-time. I don't know what you mean when you say there wasn't much Zelda on GCN. It had two(WW and FSA even though FSA wasn't really a true Zelda game since it was pretty short and had levels instead of an overworld). NES had two, SNES had one(but a great one) and N64 had two.

1. SNES - Maybe the largest amount of classics on one system ever.
2. GCN - Severely underrated as it also had a ton of greats both 1st/2nd party and 3rd.
3. NES - Revitalized the North American game industry and built the foundation for modern gaming. There is a good argument that it is the greatest ever.
4. N64 - Overrated a tad since while it was very top heavy but nothing in the middle area and a lot of crap. While important to gaming, overall it just didn't have a lot.

I don't include the Wii right now since it is still a tad early to judge. Though it may have had one of the best year and a half from Nintendo I've ever seen as far as big name titles being released in such a short time.
