Chest on mercay

Has anyone noticed the chest at the bottom of mercay? it is on a upper ledge with some stairs going up to it, but the little plot of land at the bottom of the stairs is disconnected from the mainland. There is no post for the grappling hook and a fence around the backside of the chest so these stairs seem to be the only way of getting to it. Does anyone know how to get to it or what might be in it?

Grab the cucco that is walking around Mercay Island. Just creep up slowly and then tap it to grab the cucco. Use it to fly over to the area on the left. Climb the steps and open the chest for a random treasure piece.

You only get a Zoras Scale I think...but it might be worth a lot in your game (how much treasure is worth varies from game to game). In mine it was only 50 rupees.

Ya, the treasure that appears here is random in each game. Almost all the treasure that's found in the game is completely random. All except the regal ring treasure I believe, but that might even be random as well. Although I always think you'll get a weak treasure. In my game the Goron Ember was a weak treasure. Your game might be one of the necklaces or something. Completely random.

I haven't found a regal ring yet but the ho ho is looking for them. Are any of them static or side quest rewards?

I heard in some games, Zora scales are 1500 rupees to the guy on Mercay island. They're only worth around 80 on my game, and I have like 12 of them :p The necklaces and regal rings are worth 1500 to me though.

On my game, Zora Scales are worth 50, and so are the Goron Amber, among other things. The necklaces are 800 and the regal rings are 1500.

the regal rings must be the 1500 item on my game because i've found everything else and don't remember anything being that high. I wish i knew where to find one.
