X and O hammer puzzle - PH

Yeah the one where you have to match it to the shape of the one below it after lowering the water

I guess I just suck with these kinda things. I can get it to all X or Os but now I am just hammering randomly and its not getting me anywhere

Any geniuses wanna give me a step by step where to hammer starting from an either all X or O pattern?

The trick is to know where to hammer to get certain tiles to flip. If you hammer right next to the puzzle, then you're going to flip two full rows of tiles. If you move out one or two tile spaces away from the puzzle, then you flip less tiles. Once you figure that out, it's easy. You can flip two tiles at a time, or a corner tile, or whatever you want.

Peregrine pretty much summed it up. Perhaps I should revise this section within the walkthrough. I'll look into that shortly, to help make it less complicated.

oh ok thanks it was a lot easier knowing I could hit next to the tiles

there are 2 things that also can make things easy
1. if link stands on a plate it won't flip
2. if you hit a title then the titles connected to those titles flip right? well try also pounding the titles that don 't connect, so in other word, if you hit the ground next to the titles, the impact will also make flip the titles near the ground. (dunno if i explained it right)

I was really terrible at this when I played it on Mario DS Minigames. I like it on PH though, I think it's quite fun.

Keep in mind that you can hit the hammer OUTSIDE of the puzzle area, and only move a few blocks at a time. You can just move the outside ones by hitting in the correct area outside of the puzzle.
