Phantom Hourglass Game help

On Mercay Island at the top right corner and at a few other places on the game you see a yellow tipped pole in the ground. What are you supposed to do there? You can jump on top of the pole but I can't figure it out. THanks

I'm not sure exactly what you are speaking of really. I think you are talking about the small wooden pegs that stick in the ground. Later on when you get the grappling hook you can use it to create a tight rope between wooden pegs or just to grapple over.

However, there is no wooden peg at the top-right corner of the island, so I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for.

Much like Mases said, later on it will become known to you what it is for and the best approach for now is to simply ignore those poles. (Yeah, I know which pole you're speaking of, the one near the temple, right? Again, come back later and it will make sense.)
