Below you will find some few frequently asked questions.
1) There are 100's of Zelda message boards out there, some much larger and more active. Why should I choose the Dark World?
At the Dark World, our main focus is primarily on Zelda game help, Zelda discussion, Zelda theorizing, and everything else Zelda related. There are tons of other sites out there who's forums have small Zelda sections and then a wide variety of general sections. While we have a few of those sections as well, our primary reason of existence is for fans of Zelda Dungeon to have a place to share their ideas about the Zelda series.
2) I see all sorts of users with different colors. What do the stand for?
There is a legend near the bottom of the site in the 'What's Going On' section. The Webmasters are the overlords over the Zelda Dungeon website and Dark World Forums. The Administrators are the ones who keep the Dark World running on a day to day basis. Webmasters, Administrators, Super Moderators, and Moderators are in charge of making sure everything runs smoothly within the topic threads and the shoutbox. Arbiters are mini-moderators who have a say in administrative decisions and also moderate the shoutbox. Hylian Heroes are distinguished members for being loyal forum users, close friends, or just simply great members of the community. Fansite Workers consist of users who are not a part of the Zelda Dungeon or Dark World staff, but contribute to a site of their own.
3) I just made a post, but it doesn't appear on the statistics at the bottom. How come?
The stats that appear at the bottom of the Dark World index page only count towards the Zelda related forums. All the site and general discussion related topics do not go into the stats. Like mentioned earliar, those sections are just supporting areas and we use the stats to help encourage more involvement with the Zelda related areas of the site.
4) I noticed there were more users registered a few days back, but now there are less. What happened to them?
At the begining of each month, the Dark World prunes members that they distinguish as inactive. These include members that have signed up and have not logged in over 60days and have 0 posts. There are also extended pruning of users with extreme low post counts who haven't posted or logged in for several monthes. Don't worry, even if you don't post at all, as long as you log in every two months, your account is safe. We do this to try and get a more accurate account for our community fan base.
5) I have a problem and want to ask somebody for help, who should I contact?
You can contact Caleb or Mases, both are site webmasters and should be able to assist you. If they are unavailable for one reason or another, the secondary option would be to contact Avenged or Linkman8.
6) How can I become an Arbiter or Moderator here at the Dark World?
Choosing members of the staff is a very selective process and is done by the current staff of the forums. Ultimate decisions of which users become staff members are decided by the Administrators and Webmasters. In order to be eligible for a staff position you should have earned a good reputation amongst the forum community and be an active member. There is no requirement for number of posts or days registered, but we expect most staff members to have been here long enough and made enough posts to earn the respect of their peers and the current forum staff.
