Alright, recently I've been replaying Twilight Princess just for the fun of it, and I noticed something interesting as I acquired the last hidden skill. After the skeletal trainer says his piece, the screen turns white and he says something along the lines of "Go forth and don't fail me, my child!"

Hmm.... Anyone think he called him "my child" for a more hidden reason? I caught this and thought it was worth mentioning. Maybe I'm just thinking too much, but what do the rest of you think?

There have been a few theories that she skeletal man is the Link from Ocarina of Time. There might be a secret reason that might be discovered in the next game.

Yeah, as Charmy has said many theories have been conjured on that quote, and perhaps Nintendo purposely put it in for that reason, but I am most inclined to believe that he said it simply because he is younger than he. Older and wise people always say "my child" and is a common phrase to reffer to those younger than they, so I don't think there is any relationship between the two (although there are plenty of things people could use to contradict me, like how he is left handed like Link for example.)

If I remember correctly, didn't the trainer say that he was a knight of Hyrule in his lifetime? The first thing that I thought, if there was a connection, is that maybe he would be OOT Link's father, because he died in the Great War , and he was a Hyrulian Knight.

Oh but it did. I'll assume you're talking about translations? I sort of doubt they would've had choppy or incorrect translations on one of the most anticipated games of 2006-2007.

It's worthy of question why they put those exact words in. But like Paine said, might be nothing, might be something.

Mabey they put it in just to see how many forum conversations started up over it! ^_^

'My child' doesn't neccessarily mean directly 'my son' or 'my daughter'. It can be used by an elder to adress someone young. I do like to believe that the skeleton warrior is in fact Link from OoT, though.

I realize that, but I brought it up just in case it was more profound than it appeared to be. Perhaps you're right, or maybe not.

Didn't he say he was the Hero in the past?
Usually he says: "you are able to perform MY lost art"

No, I don't believe he said he was a hero, I believe he just said that he was a Hyrulian Knight.
