I would have to say the most boring thing is....nothing I love them all!:)
What do you guys say?
Um, okay......
Well, if I had to pick one that didn't really appeal to me it would probably be Link's Awakening. It wasn't very fun to me, and kind of easy. O_O

ALTTP is the most boring for me, it was the colour scheme and the dungeons that made me supremely bored. The bosses of that game where probably the only thing i found exiting.

But hmmm, boring Zelda game... I can't say that any of them were overly boring, because they all had their own entertainment value.

I can't think of any that were boring, I think LA was an awesome one. The only time I'm bored with a Zelda game is when I've played it to the end several times.

I didn't like the Oracle games much. I found them very dull and the fact that you had to connect them both up to fight the 'last' boss was stupid IMHO.

Hmm I found TWW to be boring AT TIMES. Only when there was like 4 hours of sailing involved.
LA and AoL were the most boring for me though. They just didn't appeal to me at all.

Yeah, same here. I start playing AoL and end up just playing something else after ten minutes. It's really the only one I've found a little boring though.

Hard for me to understand how you can think that game is boring!! I wrote that I think LA is the most boring one. I do not think it is boring but it was the least fun :hmm: (and thus the most boring)

Difficult games are boring for newbies.
This is typically true, the harder the game, the more one can appreciate beating it. I think the same is true of life.
The most boring game to me was probably Ocarina of Time(before I get swarmed with responses) because I played it so much and I would take so much time to run through the fields and stuff. It bored me stiff a lot of the time.

I have to say the first Legend of Zelda. You die soooo easy! And i'm dead bored with the game.

I think the only time a Zelda game became boring was when I used cheats to access areas in the game you can't w/out cheats (esp in OoT). When you've been everywhere possible in a game, it becomes extremely boring. Doing the same thing over and over...trying to find hidden areas and etc.
For me the msot boring was ALttP. I've only gotten to about halfway through the game, but I haven't found a part yet that interested me.
Zelda...
Boring?
WHUT!?!?
I found none boring. Now difficult, yes, but never boring. It's called a CHALLENGE!
Especially the ones that make you curse, like AoL's stupid dark caves before you get a candle.

Hm, the most boring for me was probably Majora's Mask. It felt too short for me. Twilight princess also felt boring to me for some reason.

Twilight Princess I was bored half of the time. Especially in the Arbiter's Grounds and Lakebed Temple.

Ummm... hmmm... First of all, I think the "ever" part of the title is superfluous.
Probably Wind Waker, just because I found the sailing a little tedious. Wind Waker lacked enough land mass to explore so all that sailing was too much.

I also agree with Rebeka. Twilight Princess is alright, yet the dungeons are too easy, and the amount of sudden plot twists make the game a little predictable. I like the drama in the game, but it has too much drama. Why it can't be like OoT where it is very balanced in everything.

Well, I cannot exactly answer this question - mainly because I've never been bored whilst playing any Zelda game. I suppose on the grounds of which is my least favorite, I suppose that would work.. the most boring (in the aspect of which one I dislike more) would have to be Majora's Mask. I truly hated the limited time, and that just really got to me after a while.

Definitely Link's Crossbow Training. No Contest. But if I had to list one that wasn't really a spinoff, I'd probably say.. Twilight Princess. It just didn't feel fun and I had no motivation to complete it like I did all the other Zelda games.

Phantom Hourglass, yawn... Whereas Wind Waker was awesome, Phantom Hourglass was lacking. I didn't like the dungeons, the Temple of the Ocean King was a pain, the sailing parts were alright... I suppose. But they lacked something. I actually really liked sailing in Wind Waker, but in PH it felt more like you had to protect yourself every second.
It's not a bad game, just a disappointing Zelda title. I guess I expected too much from it.

You know, now that you mention it - Phantom Hourglass seemed incredibly short for me. The puzzles were nothing like the other Zelda games, and there were many annoyances. No thanks to Linebeck and Jolene. If you weren't avoiding her, then you were avoiding numerous monsters through the seas.

While in terms of gameplay, PH was really a huge failure for me, I really found the earlier three games to be kind of boring mainly because the world was empty. AoL was pretty fun as a standalone game- I played it a bunch on a road trip and learned to appreciate in in small sessions, and it did have some amusing NPCs.
Really, though, LttP takes the cake for me. It's just grabbing one item after another, finishing the dungeons, and searching for the next one for half an hour. There's no real story, to be honest. Even AoL had the mystique of the eyes of Ganon in Saria, and the tale of Kasuto. LttP, on the other hand, really didn't have much going on- there were no collectibles, no story sidequests, no nothing. Just a world full of dungeons. At least there were people, as opposed to LoZ, but they were really generic atmosphere NPCs, to tell you that this was a town.
Blah.

I don't think I've ever played a Zelda title that was boring through and through, but I would have to say that achieveing 100% on all the Gems and Ship Parts in PH could be very tedious. If you have nothing else to do but head off to the final battle, and you're searching for all the parts before you do, then it can be very redundant and tiresome. I actually gave up on the Golden Ship parts because of this.
I think perhaps if obtaining the parts was done more throughout the gameplay between dungeons then it might be more entertaining, but in a lump sum with nothing else to do, it became quite boring for me. On a second playthrough, I plan to obtain as much as I can while the story progresses to see if I can rectify this! :)

What version of ALttP did you play? LOL...
There are more side quests than you may think.
I played the Virtual Console version, but that's not the point. What I mean is that there were no real story sidequests. The plot never really progresses in LttP- the only major event is the Agahnim fight and Dark World thing. There are almost no characters, save Sharashlalashaslablah and Zelda- it's just a world full of enemies. The sidequests are usually just minidungeons that net you extra items, and there's really no sense of ever doing anything. You're just getting stuff and progressing through dungeons with no bearing on the story. Because of this empty world, every frustrating obstacle became something that made me want to give up rather than overcome to achieve something.

No Zelda game was boring for me though, or boring is not the right word to use. Disappointing is better and the most disappointing game was Phantom Hourglass, i hope it had the sail freedom as in Wind Waker. The Dungeons where pretty though but i didn't like the whole gameplay. I enjoyed the way to take the Boss Key to it's place, the same with the Triforce parts. I really hated to start the Temple of The Ocean King over and over again, i was happy to caught up to a save point, but still you have to do the same point over again.
Phantom Hourglass has nothing special like the other Zelda games too, no control over a other body, it was really disappointing. The Goron is no example for me.

I only played WW fully, so this can't be it.
I got Phantom of the Hourglass, that turkey bore me as soon as I noticed that I had to move Link with the stylus. I will not keep on playing it, as I found the movement too crappy. I didn't even go and meet the captain in the bar, because I got bored...(yawns)

I would probably say Phantom Hourglass is the most boring because you HAVE to use the stylus and after every temple you have to go back to that stupid Temple of the Ocean King.
Colin Creevey
09-12-2009, 09:53 AM
I didn't like PH because of the stylus but I hardly played at all and am in no position to call it boring.
The NES games ALTTP and LA were a little boring to me as the lack of storytelling (by today's standards) made it so that I felt little motivation to overcome the challenge they posed. However they were not the most boring games as the challenge did have it's moments.
None of the console games were boring either, being very immersive.
In the games I have played I would have to go with TMC as the most boring game. It was an easy game with little to explore, few dungeons and only two bosses that one couldn't defeat on the first try (Gyorg and Vaati). It's concept had potential but there was little storytelling after the game got started (though the quest to get to the Wind Tribe was cool). There was also little character death and Ezlo has got to be the most annoying partner ever.
Counting the ones i played majoras mask. only had four easy peasy dungeons and it had so many boring sidequests. I kept playing it in hopes it would get better but noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo it didn't.

I would have to say their really wasn't a boring Zelda game, but I would have to say Minish Cap and don't get me wrong it was a good game, but it was really annoying with all the Kinstones I had to collect though it's really fun to play on a boring day. I mean the sidequest or whatever you want to call them were really boring and sometimes stupid. The mysterious shells were ok, but you need a whole bunch to get a new figurine which really annoyed me. The dungeons were ok, but they needed to be harder. Also collecting the elements was really useless to me though I did enjoy the final boss battle. The most annoying places was the Temple of Droplets and the Palace of Winds because they just annoyed me with the confusing layouts.

Easy Zelda games never seem to attach with me, but Phantom Hourglass seems to be the only exception to that. I really don't like Link's Awakening, as stated, it's far to easy. As well as Minish Cap. I liked it at the time I got it, it was something to do, but I never replayed it very much, if at all.
I like Twilight Princess, but I wasn't playing it because it's fun, if anything, it's the least fun gameplay-wise, I played it for the story. I love the story, but absolutely hate the game, which is why I've never replayed it and probably never will.
I like Ocarina of Time, don't get me wrong, but it's in my top five for my least favorite Zelda games, it's just never pulled me into the game as much as the other games I did like did.

To me, either LOZ or AOL Is the most boring. They didnt have that much good music, hardley any storyline, and they plain and simple got old after a while. All the other games had some sort of deeper storyline compared to these, and better gameplay.

Sadly, gonna have to go with Wind Waker. Too easy and the sailing was too boring. I got bored without much land travel and combat, and spent a lot of time just sitting there sailing without doing anything. I jumped a lot so I could actually participate. :P
And it was so easy. The bosses were... kinda sad. :xd:

I wold have to say PH.
You couldn't really sail as easily as in WW, and it was WAY to easy and short. Also, the repetitiveness of the Ocean Kings Temple or whatever was horrible. Good concept, but i just couldn't talk it. I'm surprised i beat it, because of how bad it was.

Love all the games, but I always get more bored with the handhelds. It is just harder to be emersed on the tiny screen. Thank God for the gameboy player on the gamecube. LA, MC, and the Oracles games are so much better on the TV. I wish it were not logistically impossible to play PH on the TV. I'm playing through it finally for the first time, and I like it, but being a handheld I spend a lot less time on it than I have other Zelda games I've played through.

I would have to say Phantom Hourglass, It was too easy and the sailing was boring, although I was actually not really bored much outside of the sailing, none of the other Zelda's I've played have bored me more than that. It was still quite fun too play, I just don't like how it was easy and the sailing did make it boring.
I don't see LoZ as boring as that game is still one of the hardest Zelda's I've played and I found it quite fun trying to stay alive and not getting ripped to shreds by anything that took away 2 hearts or more ...I hated the guys that could do that.

Honestly, after playing it about 1000 times to do the walkthrough and various other pages, the original Legend of Zelda gets extremely boring after awhile. I do enjoy playing it, but I'm just sick of it after awhile.
Wind Waker was fun, but the sailing was terrible. Sometimes, I just put up the sail, point in the right direction, and get a snack. It takes FOREVER to get from one place to the other, especially without the Ballad of the Gales. With the Ballad of Gales, it still takes awhile, but significantly cuts down time, so after that point, the game isn't that terrible.
Twilight Princess, I like it up until after the second dungeon. Then they introduce half a dozen things you have to collect. I liked it in OOT where there was one you can collect if you want, and the rewards, for the most part, were good enough to want. Why would I seek out 60 poes for a bottle? I think I'm fine with only 3, thanks.
The Minish Cap has terrible replay value. I do play it over again for fun sometimes, but that's after completing it like a year ago. Finding all of those kinstone fusions take forever. It's not the kinstones theirselves, I have probably 150 of those, there's like 3 more on my most recent file I have left and I just can't find them! I've probably talked to all of Hyrule looking for them with no luck!
The rest of them for the most part are fine, but AOL is just too hard. I can't even beat the first boss, so I just quit.
