Photoshop Contest: Kooloo-Limpah
Posted on August 21 2015 by Rod Lloyd
Hey everyone! I hope you’re having a great Friday, and I also hope you’re ready for another entry in ZI’s weekly Photoshop Contest. This week, we’re going to ignore Tingle’s warnings and steal the magic words “kooloo-limpah” for ourselves. But we’re not doing this for dubious purposes. Rather, we’re taking these words in the hopes of making them even more outrageous with our ‘shopping skills. Sound like fun? Good! Let’s get it started right after we check out the winners of last week’s contest: Straight Outta Hyrule.
Last Week’s Contest:
Were you able to catch Straight Outta Compton last weekend? I sure did, and I unapologetically themed last week’s contest on the film’s hip hop attitudes.
Best Submissions
Artist: Thomas Nichols
Challenge Mode
Last week’s challenge paid homage to N.W.A.’s five members. I chose Dr. Mario for Dr. Dre, I chose an Ice Climber for Ice Cube, and I put Link in a yellow tunic for DJ Yella. I had a harder time finding Nintendo equivalents for Eazy E and MC Ren, but contestants did a good job filling out the group. Challenge Mode winner Antonio Quiacain decided to include Ganondorf and Darunia in his entry; and let’s certainly not forget the best use of ball caps the Photoshop Contest has ever seen. Who wouldn’t want to see these characters perform a rap show? Great job as always.
This Week’s Contest: Kooloo-Limpah
“Kooloo-Limpah!” After shouting these magic words, Zelda series superstar Tingle immediately and resolutely tells plays to not “steal them.” Well, I for one think that Tingle was being way too cautious when protecting these magical exclamations. He obviously did not consider the magic the Zelda Informer community could bring to his trademark shout and dance.
The contest this week is to enhance or re-imagine the Kooloo-Limpah in your own special way. We all know that Tingle will spin, toss confetti, and perhaps give us a light show. But I’m confident our community can use Photoshop to make the ritual even more ridiculous, more blown out, and more (dare I say) fabulous. There are few rules in this contest; simply show us what Kooloo-Limpsh means to you, using our image gallery below and anything else floating around on the internet.
General Rules:
- Submit your entries in the comments section below.
- To save images from the gallery, right click the image in the gallery (without opening the image in lightbox) and select open image in new tab. Go up to the address bar and delete __small from the URL. Hit enter, right click, and save!
- Photoshop is not required to enter the contest. Any image manipulation software can be used to create your entry.
- Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.). We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages.
- Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Informer. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another…and that’s OK.
- Have fun, and be creative!
Deadline: Submit entries no later than next Wednesday at midnight: 11:59 p.m. PST on August 26. Entries submitted after this deadline will not be considered.
Challenge Mode
For those that who want to test their skills with something more challenging, we have a few Challenge Rules for you to follow:
1. Tingle must be played by a famous Hollywood actor.
2. Your entry must include a dragon.
If you think you’re up to the challenge, include the phrase Challenge Accepted with your submission. Remember, Challenge Mode submissions follow the same rules and guidelines of the base Photoshop Contest in addition to the Challenge Rules.
Good luck!
