A long-standing staple in the Legend of Zelda series is the process of discovering new items throughout the game to help you along your journey. Whether it be a specific type of arrow, a fresh new pair of boots, or a weird version of a hoverboard (that being the Ancient Spinner from Twilight Princess), these unique items are often found in the game’s dungeons

We’ve gotten confirmation from Nintendo and people who have played demos that Echoes of Wisdom will have “traditional” dungeons similar to top-down and three-quarters view Zelda games of the past. However, with the pervasive powers that can be utilized through the Tri Rod, like creating Echoes and the Ultrahand-like powers of Bind, it’s hard to imagine many opportunities for use of other items in Hyrule and its dungeons.

Initially, the revealing of Bind gave me little hope that we would see dungeon-specific items in Echoes of Wisdom. However, with the newer reveal of Zelda’s “Swordfighter Form,” my hopes have been rekindled — albeit faintly — that we will see other items presented to us throughout the game, giving us new mechanical abilities and a chance to explore new areas and unlock new puzzles.

I remain skeptical that this will come to fruition, but what do you think? How certain are you on whether we’ll see dungeon items return to Zelda games with Echoes of Wisdom? Let us know in the comments!
