Link (young)- Link was born a Hylian, but his dying mother was forced to abandon him in the Lost Woods. The Great Deku Tree sensing the child's destiny, took him under Kokiri protection, and raised him as a forest child. Finally learning his destiny, Link set off on the greatest adventure known throughout the lands of Hyrule. He collected the Kokiri's Emerald, Goron's Ruby, and Zora's Sapphire, all by completing difficult, and intricate dungeons. He ran to Hyrule as quickly as possible and witnessed Zelda and Impa flee from the destructed Hyrule. Zelda tossed the Ocarina of Time, and Link encountered Ganondorf up close for the first time. He drew his sword but was than sealed in the Sacred Realm for he was not yet ready to battle the King of all evil.

Link (adult)- Link was sealed in the Sacred Realm for seven tears, finally being released by the Light Sage, Rauru. He told him of his task, and Link accepted. Link unlocked the secret to the sacred hylian weapon, the Master Sword, and pulled it from the stone. He set off to collect all 5 medallions. He started off with the forest, than fire, water, shadow, and spirit, and was finally ready to battle Ganondorf Dragmire. He raced up to the top of Ganon's Tower, and the epic battle began. Link defeated Ganondorf, and raced down from the tower with Zelda. When it seemed all was one, Ganondorf was alive, but in his beast form. With a few stabs in the tail, the King of Evil was destroyed, and peace was restored to the lands of Hyrule. Link is forever known as the "Hero of Time" for his role in saving Hyrule. He mounts Epona, and says his good-byes to embark on another grand adventure.
Zelda (young)- Princess Zelda is the daughter of the King of Hyrule, and is a very courteous, proper young lady. She had been having horrible foresights, of Ganondorf, the leader of the Gerudo Tribe, taking over, and destroying the lands of Hyrule. Everyone thought it was a funny joke, as no one would break the Hyrulian peace treaty. When Zelda meets Link in the castle courtyard, they quicly become friends, and Link believes her story. After Link returns to Hyrule with the 3 spiritual stones, he witnesses Zelda and Impa fleeing. Zelda tosses Link the sacred Ocarina of Time, as he will need it.
Princess Zelda (Adult)- Princess Zelda during the seven years Link was gone, turned into a beautiful, fair woman, with strong magic abilities. She had also been training with Impa to hide from Ganondorf as Sheik. Princess Zelda awaits Link to save Hyrule, and continues to hide out. During the final battle with Ganondorf, Zelda coems to aid Link anyway possible, and when he is defeated, they both flee the tower together. Zelda turns back time, with none of this happening, as she feels she stole Link's childhood away. Some say Zelda was awakened as the Sage of Time, for her deeds in helping Link, but it is uncertain.
Ganondorf- Ganondorf is the King of Theives, and nothing matters to him, but the domination of Hyrule. By tricking Link and Zelda, he opened the Sacred Realm, but because of his evil intentions, he was only able to obtain the Triforce of Power. Slowly capturing each Hylian area one bu one, Ganondorf would have controlled all of Hyrule, if one boy had not stood in his way. In a valiant final battle, Link overcame all the difficulties, and defeated the evil beast Ganondorf, and he was than sealed in the Sacred Realm, until he managed to escape generations later...
Navi- Navi is Link's personal fairy, used for strategy, information, and overall, just a friend. The Great Deku Tree informed Navi of Link's destiny, and he had never had a fairy, so Navi met with Link and they became quick friends. It was quite obvious they had great chemistry during battle, as Link relied on Navi, and vice versa. Some say the name Navi, comes from Navigation.
Great Deku Tree- The Great Deku Tree is sacred protector of Kokiri Forest, and is worshipped as the kokiri's protector. He sensed the great evil that would occur, and acted upon Link's future destiny. The Great Deku Tree was infested by Ganondorf's minions, and horribly weakened. Link defeated the evil Queen Gohma inside of the sacred protector, but it was too late for him. He passed on entrusting Link with the Kokiri Emerald.
Kaepora Gaebora- Kaepora Gaebora is a former sage, reincarnated as an owl to keep watch over Hyrule. He has common meetings with Link, and watches over him perched atop large trees. Link's first encounter with the owl is just outside the Lost Woods, where he briefly explains the quest he will be embarking on. After learning a song outside a temple from Sheik, Kaepora is able to be seen flying overhead, knowing Link must succeed.
Epona- Epona is the trusty horse of Link, and is always at his side when needed. Link first meets Epona at Lon Lon Ranch, and feels a connection with the horse when he plays Epona's Song on his ocarina. Ingo hands over Epona to you, after you defeat him in a race seven years after your first meeting with the horse. As an adult, you have the ability to use your bow while mounted on Epona.
Sheik- Sheik is a mysterious member of the sheikah tribe, with great strength, and speed. He helps Link numerous times on his quest, by teaching him songs to open the doors to temples. Sheik is actually Princess Zelda, hiding from Ganondorf, as a male sheikah. His skills (or her skills) have been taught by Impa, Princess Zelda's loyal guardian. Sheik is one of the last remaining members of the sheikah tribe, who have been loyal protectors to the Hyrulian Royal Family for years. No one knows Zelda's secret.
Rauru- Rauru is a very mysterious person, and you don't see him as often as the other sages. It is possible he was on of the original sages who sealed the triforce away. When Link encountered Ganondorf, after Ganondorf had stolen the triforce, Rauru sealed Link the Sacred Realm, knowing Link was not ready to use the Master Sword. He always remained hidden, even when the other sages were awakened. Rumor has it, that after Link defeated Ganondorf, Rauru had ended his life as the Sage of Light.
Saria- Saria is a close childhood friend of Link's, and is a native kokiri. Her age is unknown, for the kokiri live eternally. When the Great Deku Tree passed on, and Link started his adventure, she gave him a Fairy Ocarina, and also taught him the melody,"Saria's Song." Whenever he played that song, he could speak with Saria, for help on his mission. Seven years later, Saria sensed strange happenings at the Forest Temple. When she went to investigate, she was held captive by Ganondorf's minions. Link defeated Phantom Ganon, and revealed Saria as the Forest Sage.
Darunia- Darunia is the leader of the Gorons of Goron City. Him and Link become close friends after he hands over the precious Goron's Ruby to him, he even names his son after the Hero of Time. When the Gorons are captured and taken to the Fire Temple, Darunia attempts to rescue them, and slay the dragon Volvagia. Darunia sadly fails, but Link is able to save the day using the Goron sacred weapon, the Megaton Hammer. For the hardships Darunia had to endure, he becomes the Sage of Fire.
Ruto (young)- Ruto is the Princess of the Zora tribe of Zora's Domain. She is a very mischivious, and rude little girl, but can act sweet at times. Her favorite thing to do is explore the depths of Lord Jabu Jabu's belly, but when Ganondorf infects Lord Jabu Jabu, she is stuck inside with many of Ganondorf's minions. Link goes to save her with the sole purpose of claiming the Zora's Sapphire. Ruto is supposed to give the sapphire to her future husband as an engagement ring. When Link saves Ruto from the beasts, she hands him the sapphire, but Link is unaware that Ruto thinks they are getting married.
Ruto (adult) - Ruto has matured greatly into a sensible, beautiful Zora. When Zora's Domain is frozen over, she is trapped in the Ice Cavern, but later saved by Sheik. When Link goes to the Ice Cavern, Sheik informs Link that Ruto is going to the Water Temple to try and save Zora's Domain. Link travels to the Water Temple, and finds out she has been captured. When Ruto is saved by Link, she awakens as the Water Sage. She realizes Link won't be marrying her, and marries another Zora.
Impa- Impa is the loyal protector of Princess Zelda, and one of the most respected sheikah of Hyrule. She serves Zelda with her life, even when she is off-duty. When Ganondorf attacked Hyrule, Impa helped Zelda escape, and they handed the Ocarina of Time to Link. Impa taught Zelda the ways of the sheikah, so she could hide herself from Ganondorf as "Sheik." When Link travels to the Shadow Temple, and defeats Bongo Bongo, Impa reveals herself as the Shadow Sage.
Nabooru- The 2nd in command of the Gerudo Tribe, Nabooru hated Ganondorf, and swore she would not work under such an evil being. With the Silver Gauntlets, Nabooru planned to defeat Ganondorf, as it would give her the needed strength. She allowed Young Link to crawl through the hole in the Spirit Temple to retrieve them, as she was too large. Koume and Kotake heard of her plans, and captured her. As the merged Twinrova, they were defeated by Link, and Nabooru was released as the Spirit Sage.
King Zora- King Zora is the ruler over Zora's Domain. He is unlike all of his fellow zora, as he has a different facial appearance, and is grossly overweight. King Zora is the one who ordered you to save his daughter, Ruto, from Jabu-Jabu's Belly. When Zora's Domain is frozen over, King Zora is locked in a block of red ice. After defeating the Ice Csvern, Link unfroze the King, and he was rewarded with the Goron Tunic.
Malon- Malon is the daughter of Link, and is a nice girl, who is a great friend to Link. Malon is often found outside the ranch singing to her beloved horse, Epona. She teaches Link "Epona's Song" and Epona always comes to you when playing her favorite song. Malon is usually the one running errands for Lon Lon Ranch, as her father, Talon, always falls asleep on the job, and is quite the lazy person. She forgets who Link is, but after winning the race with Ingo, she remembers and is eternally grateful for saving the ranch, and returning Ingo to his normal, nice self.
Talon- Talon is the owner of Lon Lon Ranch, when Link is a child. He is a very simple, small-minded man, who can become very lazy. Link's first encounter with Talon is when he fell asleep outside the castle delivering milk. When he is asleep, the only thing to wake him up is a rooster. He is a lovely young daughter named Malon, and he entrusts one of the finest horses, Epona in her care. He is very good friends with Ingo, another worker on the ranch.
Ingo- Ingo is a good friend of Talon's, and works at the Lon Lon Ranch. He feels he is overworked, and underpaid, so he is always grouchy, and bitter. According to Malon, he was very kind and gentle at one time. When Limk returns to the ranch as an adult, Ingo had been given the ranch by Ganondorf, and raises fine horses for him. Ingo bets Link rupees he couldn't beat him in a race, and when he loses, he asks to race again for Epona. Upon winning, Ingo goes berserk, because Ganondorf was to have that horse. Eventually, he returns to his gentle self, and Talon owns the ranch again.
Mido- Mido is a very unkind, and bossy member of the Kokiri Tribe. He considers himself the leader of the kokiri, but only Saria is intelligent enough to know that he is not the leader. Mido has always been jealous of Link, as he is much bigger, faster, stronger, and more. He is also upset because he had always wanted to be good friends with Saria, and Link is, causing his anger. When the Great Deku Tree dies, he blames Link, causing Mido to hate Link, but he veentually realizes he is the great "Hero of Time" and deserves more respect.


Link (young)
--Description - The hero. Dressed in a green tunic, he has blonde hair and blue eyes. He was born a Hylian, but was forced to lived with the Kokiri children when his mother was dying.
--Importance - The main man. The chosen one summoned by the Deku Tree to save Hyrule.
--Location - When the game first starts, Link is living in the Kokiri Forest under protection of the Great Deku Tree.
Link (adult)
--Description - Link has taken a more manly form, but his basic descriptions stay the same.
--Importance - Once again, he is the hero. In all reality, Link is the "Chosen One." It is his duty to come when Hyrule is in danger.
--Location - No location
Princess Zelda (child)
--Description - Dressed in royal clothing, she has blonde hair and blue eyes. She was born into the royal family, and is taken care of by Impa, her nurse.
--Importance - Princess Zelda had been having terrible dreams of Ganondorf taking over Hyrule. Later when she meets Link, she asked him to open the Door of Time, which only lead to the destruction of Hyrule.
--Location - Hyrule Castle
Princess Zelda (adult)
--Description - By now, Princess Zelda has become a beautiful woman. She has strong magical abilities. She awaits Link to save Hyrule.
--Importance - Princess Zelda secretly helps Link as Shiek. She reveals herself right before Link travels into Ganon's Castle. Some people say that she is awakened as the Sage of Time, but this is never revealed.
--Location - Unknown
Ganondorf
--Description - The bad guy. He has fiery red hair, and is the King of Thieves. He is dressed in vile looking armor. What matters to him most is gaining the Triforce and ruling Hyrule.
--Importance - After Link opens the Door of Time, Ganondorf intrudes and gains access to the Sacred Realm, which ultimately leads to the destruction of Hyrule.
--Location - Before the destruction, he was the King of Thieves, located in Gerudo Valley.
Navi
--Description - Navi is Link's personal guardian fairy. To put it simple, Navi looks like a bright flying orb.
--Importance - Over time, she becomes a good friend to Link.
--Location - Unknown
Great Deku Tree
--Description - A sacred protector of the Kokiri Forest, the Great Deku Tree is like a father to the Kokiri children, and as his name, he is a giant tree.
--Importance - The Great Deku Tree was infested with Ganondorf's minions after he refused to hand over the Kokiri Emerald. Link tried to save him, but after he defeated Queen Gohma, he realised it was too late. He passed on entrustion Link with the Kokiri Emerald.
--Location - The Great Deku Tree is located at the edge of Kokiri Forest and the Lost Woods.
Kaepora Gaebora
--Description - Kaepora Gaebora is a former sage, and was reincarnated as an owl to watch over Hyrule.
--Importance - Kaepora Gaebora supplies Link with information in select places.
--Location - It is unknown where he lives, but can be seen all over Hyrule.
Epona
--Description - Epona is Link's horse. She is always available when he needs her.
--Importance - Link needs Epona to get around Hyrule quickly.
--Location - Epona lives at Lon Lon Ranch before Ingo gave her to Link.
Shiek
--Description - Shiek is a mysterious member of the Shiekan tribe. Shiek is dressed in a costume that has the Shiekan symbol on it. The face of this mysterious figure is always partly covered.
--Importance - Shiek supplies adult Link with information, as Kaepora Gaebora supplied young Link with information.
--Location - Unknown
Rauru
--Description - Rauru is the sage of light. He is a very mysterious person, and you don't see him as often as the other sages. Depicted as an old man, he is mostly bald and has a stern look on his face.
--Importance - Rauru sealed Link in the Sacred Realm for seven years so he would be ready to defeat Ganondorf. Rumor has it that after Link defeated Ganondorf, Rauru ended his life as the Light Sage.
--Location - Chamber of the Sages
Saria
--Description - Saria is a close friend of Link's, and is a Kokiri child. She has green hair, and blue eyes.
--Importance - She gave Link the Fairy Ocarina and taught him "Saria's Song." This song could let Link speak to Saria at any time. Saria sensed strange happenings at the Forest Temple. When she went to investigate, she was held captive by Ganondorf's Minions. Link defeated them, and Saria revealed herself as the Forest Sage.

Darunia
--Description - Darunia is the leader of the Gorons in Goron City.
--Importance - Darunia and Link become close friends after Link defeats King Dodongo. Later, he tries to defeat the dragon Volvagia, but fails. Link is able to save the Gorons, and Darunia reveals himself as the Sage of Fire.
--Location - Goron City on Death Mountain
Princess Ruto (child)
--Description - Ruto is the Princess of the Zora tribe. She is sometimes sweet, but otherwise a downright brat.
--Importance - She gave Link the Zora' Sapphire when he saved her from the belly of Jabu Jabu.
--Location - Zora's Domain
Princess Ruto (adult)
--Description - She has matured into a sensible, beautiful Zora, although she can still get bratty.
--Importance - When Zora's Domain is frozen over, she goes straight to the Water Temple in order to figure things out. She gets captured, and Link saves her. She then awakens as the Water Sage.
--Location - Zora's Domain
Impa
--Description - Impa is the loyal protector of Princess Zelda, and one of the most respected Shiekah of Hyrule. She always serves Zelda with her life.
--Importance - Shiekah saved Princess Zelda from Ganondorf, and they threw the Ocarina of Time to Link. Impa taught Zelda the ways of the Shiekah, so she could take on the role of Shiek. When Link defeats Bongo Bongo, Impa awakens as the Shadow Sage.

Nabooru
--Description - Nabooru is a Gerudo Thief, but has always hated Ganondorf. She is second in command of the Gerudo Tribe.
--Importance - She planned to defeat Ganondorf with the Silver Gauntlets, as they would give her the needed strength. She allowed young Link to crawl the the hole in the Spirit Temple to retrieve them. Koume and Kotake heard of their plans, and captured her. Link defeated them and Nabooru was released as the Spirit Sage.

King Zora
--Description - King Zora is the ruler of Zora's Domain. Grossly overweight, he is very different from his fellow Zora.
--Importance - He ordered Link to go save Princess Ruto. After defeating the Ice Cavern, Link unfroze King Zora with a fire arrow, and he was rewarded with the Zora Tunic.
--Location - Zora's Domain
Malon
--Description - Malon is the daughter of Talon. She becomes a good friend of Link. A lot of the time, she can be found singing to Epona.
--Importance - Malon teaches Link "Epona's Song," which is the only way Link can tame Epona.
--Location - Lon Lon Ranch
Talon
--Description - Talon is the owner of Lon Lon Ranch. He is first encountered by Link outside of the castle.
--Importance - He doesn't really have a big importance. He's just there.
--Location - Lon Lon Ranch
Ingo
--Description - Ingo works at Lon Lon Ranch. He often feels he is overworked. He was a nice man at one time, but overtime he got grouchy.
--Importance - Ingo bets Link rupees that he can't beat him in a horse race. Link beats him and Ingo reluctantly lets Link keep Epona. He turns into his kind self again, and Talon returns to the Ranch.
--Location - Lon Lon Ranch
Mido
--Description - Mido is a bossy Kokiri child. He says he's the leader of the Kokiri. He is always jealous of Link because he is faster, stronger, bigger, and friends with Saria. His hate for Link eventually increases when the Great Deku Tree dies. Eventually, he realizes that Link was the Hero of Time, and he deserved more respect.
--Importance - Mido lets Link pass to Hyrule Field, and later into the Sacred Grove.
--Location - Kokiri Forest
