- After the release of Adventure of Link in 1987, the Zelda series underwent four cold, dark and uncertain years, leaving fans to wonder if they would ever see another "true epic" alike the original masterpiece: The Legend of Zelda. - In 1991, those fears were put to rest with the release of A Link To The Past, returning once again to the over-head perspective in a broad, epic adventure featuring a revamped Hyrule to explore. This game was paramount for its massive amount of characters, quests and in particular, items. There were so many things in the inventory that it was nearly impossible to use them all, which reflected the sheer amount of content this game offered. The game was an incredible success and still holds a high standard in video game history, to this day! - As a result, the game was released again for the Gameboy Advance, packing along a multiplayer-only game called the Four Swords. This edition of the game also featured a few improvements, such as new "slashing sounds" and an improvement to some bugs and tricky points in the game that were just plain awkward as well as the "Four Sword Dungeon", which could only be accessed after you had completed the other game (Four Swords) on the cartridge.
